✨ ANNOUNCING OUR 2027 MAINSTAGE PRODUCTION ✨ SkirtsAfire Festival is thrilled to announce Bella Luz by Alexandra Lainfiesta as our 2027 Mainstage production, presented by Theatre Network and co-produced with Ruby Slippers Theatre. 🔥 Bella Luz is darkly funny magic-realist play that unfolds across three worlds: Canada, Guatemala, and a surreal immigration game show. The story follows Sumailla, a Guatemalan dancer desperately trying to secure permanent residency in Canada while navigating impossible bureaucratic systems, family expectations, love, sacrifice, and the pressure to prove her worth in this country.
