Thanks to a trail grant from @velocioapparel, we were able to purchase a motorized track dump this year and it’s been a game changer for our trail crew and volunteers. Moving rock, dirt, and other materials is a whole lot easier when you’re not breaking your back, and it’s helping us get more done on the trails than ever before. Most recently, the track dump has played a huge role in the improvements happening on Six Flags. With the right tools on hand, we’ve been able to accomplish work on a timeline that simply wouldn’t have been possible before. This is grant funding hard at work, and it’s just one piece of the support provided through the Velocio Trail Grant program. We’ll be sharing more updates later this summer, so stay tuned! And keep an eye out for an announcement on the reopening of Six Flags in the coming days. Better yet, join us for WATA Wednesdays at 5:30 PM to get a sneak peek at the fresh trail work and see the track dump in action. If you haven’t yet signed up for your @vmba802 membership and supported your local MTB chapter please consider doing so, we want to continue making rad stuff for everyone to enjoy!

Between trail crew and volunteers there have already been about 100 hours getting the lower trails ready for opening day. Chain sawing blow downs, leaf blowing, clearing drains, tuning up shapes and user experience upgrades! We’ve been getting stoked for everyone to get out and enjoy the trails. Keep an eye on weather but this weekend is lining up for some great riding!

Trail crew is wrapping up on Disney, and overhauled the triple drop area for a true choose your own adventure. Drop it. Largely built on the women/femme/nb dig day this drop was built where and akward huck to flat was. It now hits like butter and gives you speed for the step down as well! Roll it. We’ve been hearing lots of chatter about folks not riding the triple roll down because of how blown out it is. We spent two days rock armoring the entrance to help it be more resilient to water and hard breaking forces. We kept it a little chunky for a more natural feeling. Which do you prefer?

There’s a new jump in town. Its name is Hotdogger and it knows how to throw a mighty good house party.

Demo & Dig was a time and the squad absolutely killed it, building a proper drop on Disney! We wound up having such a fun time digging we went bell to bell, with a small crew sticking around until 5. We are waiting for a couple douses of rain to set up the take off and landing, so it’s not quite ready for its debut, but stay tuned! Big shout out to everybody who moved a massive amount of dirt and stone to bring this to life! All gender WATA Wednesday returns this week, we were will be continuing our re-build of Disneyland! More fun features to come! See you all there at 5:30. Special thanks to event sponsors @bikeexpressvt and @santacruzbicycles
