Beyond the Image: Palestine Benefit Exhibition Wrap Up 🇵🇸 Together with @all.st.nyc , we were able to raise $400 for the Sameer Project through Beyond the Image: Palestine Benefit Exhibition. We were so grateful to bring programming and community together to keep Palestine part of the conversation, while supporting artists who are preserving and carrying forward cultures that the West is actively trying to erase. Huge thank you to everyone who pulled up, supported the artists, attended our programming, and contributed to the fundraiser. Your presence and support made this possible. We’re energized to keep organizing fundraisers like this—but we can’t do it without you. If you believe in independent media and real-world impact, consider becoming a member or subscribing to our quarterly print edition. Supporting Shadowbanned means we can continue amplifying movements and materially backing the people doing the work. Now more than ever, it’s time to invest in the world we want to live in. Final poster design with my students from the Design Summer Academy workshop in China.🇨🇳💅🏽🛸 @designsummer_academy This poster was inspired by my time in China and all of the elements of slowing down and embracing stillness. Hand painted watercolor and ink to express slow freedom of typography and a regal calligraphy lion. Ornamented with a poem by Chinese poet, Li Bai. I lead a 2 week workshop in Hangzhou with designers and helped them integrate meditation, movement and hand painted elements into typographic experimental posters. Through our 2 week programming each student worked on their own poster with freedom combining personal elements and expression with typographic exploration. Ultimately leading to a final gallery showcase at the end where the whole campus got to see the fruits of our creativity. Poster show is up until Sept. 11th, at Hangzhou Hesign Design Gallery No.1 Chuangyi Road. Zhuantang Town West Lake District 310024 Hangzhou PR.China Special thanks to the team at DSA and my colleagues for the amazing support and companionship.
