Hey lovelies, the wonderful Carolyn at @hotyogasouth and equally wonderful @allybampally are raising money to get clean water for 30,000 families whose lives have been devastated by Hurricane Melissa. They need to raise £7000 by this weekend. Please give if you can and/or share if you can. Link in my stories. Thanks in advance.

What a treat of an evening at @afroribooks with the very entertaining, talented fashionista @marxia1.
So many stories in her head that I can’t wait to see what else she has in store for us but for now go and grab yourself a copy of The Mercy Step from your nearest independent bookshop.

Had a great time labrishing with these incredible storytellers yesterday at Black British Book Festival on our Writing Windrush Forward Panel. And when we finished working the Green Room lime was sublime!

Thanks to The Voice Newspaper for the invite, to @meline_fashions for the skirt, @cooyahclothing for the jacket and @neoma_design for the handbag.

Celebrating Jamaica’s 63rd Anniversary of Independence this month at The @jamaica_national_bank UK Headquarters in London, at the kind invitation as guest of their Executive Corporate Affairs & Public Policy Director Paulette Simpson CBE, was an honour, allowing me to take time out to honour our beautiful island, its people, our rich and eclectic heritage and all we have achieved and trailblazed Globally within a multitude of industry sectors.

The evening was hosted by Curator of Caribbean Cultural Performance and Artforms, @allybampally Althea Wolfe, and we were treated to an entertaining soirée of folk singing, readings, the sound of reggae & Jamaican jazz music and the spoken word, followed by book signings to our delight.

Performances by @fabian_m_thomas & @barefootislandgirlja Judith Falloon-Reid, evoked emotions as well as laughter, leaving us deep in thought and highly entertained.

Readings and poetry shared from their own books, reminded us from whence we came to be present now, positively making a difference, breaking boundaries and reaching infinite heights in Jamaica and the world!

Special Guest and Founder of the @caribbeanglobalaward, Dr Michaelene Holder-March @michaeleneholdermarch who was present, expressed how hugely entertaining the evening was, demonstrating the importance of keeping our heritage and culture alive.

Thank you The Jamaica National Group for keeping us financially balanced since opening your doors in Kingston, Jamaica over 150 years ago, and for providing your services here in the UK for the Jamaican Diaspora and providing a space to help us to stay culturally balanced within the community with events such as this one.

HAPPY 63rd INDEPENDENCE JAMAICA 🇯🇲🥳

Sometimes sweet spots in life are made even sweeter by those who share the moments with you: #1: my cousin, his wife (it was her birthday) and their son, #2: two former students, mentees and Tribers (members of my performing arts collective Tribe Sankofa) and #3: fellow UWI student and thespian/curator/sponsor/ally, child/youth actress from JMTC, her husband and her beloved mother, a true theatre mommy and earthbound angel #alikklerhymeandriddim #alikklerhymeandriddimlondon2025 #fabianmthomas
