I've been doing art for such a long time.

...Sometimes paintings take me years to complete.
I wish I could flip my art like hotcakes...that just isn't my process. Furthermore, I don't believe in making quick, crappy, bs art.

Instead; introspection, inspiration, creativity, desire, purpose and being utterly compelled to make meaningful art work that contribute to cultural and spiritual dialogue are foundational to my craft.

I started the then untitled work, "By Birthright and Ancestors," in 2018 during ArtMix at the Crocker Art Museum as an invited Artist for the Live Painting exhibition & performance. I had no idea where the painting would end up. I had no sketch or blueprint I was following. I didn't know what its meaning would hold in the future. The female subject went through a few technical updates over the years until the painting reached its final form.

I finished the painting in 2025. Seven years.

I grow alongside my art. I journey through the process.

Year 3 in the books with Race For The Arts @raceforthearts.sac

I surprised myself this year! I experienced marked improvements across the board--including a personal best-- I beat my finish line time from last year! (2025)

And, what a wonderful touch to the finish line moment to get a shout out to "The Browns" on the homestretch! 💪🏾🥉

It's always a pure joy to participate in this race with my sibling brother Italo @gr8vision . He really is a champion for wellness, health, fitness, motivation and art. We look forward to completing this race annually together.

Yerp, we in there like swimwear. See you next year! (2027)

Snapshots of the Artist Reception for the curated exhibition of Adding Stones To Rise 5/ 9.

This was one of the best, most important group exhibitions I've participated in because of the serious intention to highlight the diverse artwork of Black women and nonbinary artists in Sacramento.

I am thrilled to be included in the exhibition + be published in the exhibition catalogue.

Adero really had an awesome curatorial vision for the exhibition and graciously shared her space to provide room for a narrative not readily explored in our city. Kudos!

Artsy in Public for the Spring. I signed up for several community events scheduled for April & May and planned to attend. However, I now have to put a pause on showcasing my art in the community...

I injured myself unloading my art equipment after this recent event.

I'm just taking a moment to reflect, rest, recuperate & rehabilitate. 🤕 🎨

...Just because I felt pretty + Rare occasions require attire. (Chile, I surprised myself! 👀 💯🤏🏾💐🤌🏾)

I was thrilled with having a successful solo exhibition this month. It was a challenging season for my art schedule with multiple commitments. I was truly in a pressure cooker but I achieved everything.

Just a small, quick painting of a woman's silhouette wearing a head wrap. I was having fun with the process of making the painting.

Not sure of this work's evolution or where she'll go next but I like having lil gems in the studio. I never know what folks like or when it'll come in handy for an event / exhibition...
