🧡Pumpkin Stack🧡

Well, if we're all doing one...

I've seen so many gorgeous pumpkin stacks the last couple of days so here's mine! I've read The Mercies (⭐⭐⭐⭐), Manifesto (⭐⭐⭐⭐), Black Cake (⭐⭐⭐) and Klara and the Sun (🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟) from this stack. I would love to read Widowland and Humankind soon.

⁉️ Have you read any of these? Or want to?

⁉️ Predictive text - I love pumpkins because...

Could you crack a safe? I definitely couldn’t being that I can’t get into our own safe even with the combination. Starting today you can follow Ellie McDonnell as she cracks them with ease in Locked in Pursuit by Ashley Weaver. This is the fourth book in the Electra McDonnell Series. My heart was breaking at the beginning of this one where Ellie is going through the backstory of her parents. The story then takes us to Lisbon where Ellie and her Uncle Mick try to figure out where a group of robbers will strike next. It was interesting how they discussed the two different types of robbers. The ones that use “stealth” and sneak in and out without being noticed. And then the ones that walk into a dinner party with guns and use brute force. The robberies they are trying to solve are harder to prevent because in this case, they are using both methods. Ellie is such a tough woman and doesn’t take anything from anyone. There’s a scene where a guy is about to sexually assault her and she punches him. It was awesome. And of course, there are mysteries to solve and of course, several safe cracking scenes where she makes it sound so easy. Her methods didn’t work on our safe but then it’s probably operator error on my part. Thank you @minotaur_books Minotaur Books for including me in the release and publication day fun. #lockedinpursuit #ashleyweaver #electramcdonnell #minotaurbooks #pubday #booksbooksbooks #bookworm #bookstagram #mysterybookclub #mysterybooks #lisbon #1940s #read #reading #readmore #portugal #sleuth #dinnerparty

Some moments from the first weekend of our 200 hour vinyasa yoga teacher training course 💫 What a truly magical weekend✨

🧘‍♀️We dived into sequencing, cueing and teaching skills as well as yoga anatomy and the optimal alignment of yoga poses 😍

🫶A special shoutout to our incredible guest presenter Belinda @sacredwomensjourneys who facilitated the most beautiful opening circle event and an inspiring day of workshops on Sunday including the history of yoga, yogic philosophy, meditation and pranayama.

💕It’s such a joy to be leading BHY’s first YTT program and I cannot wait to continue this transformational journey with our beautiful teacher trainees over the next 3 months! 💖

It's a really ordinary Friday,
full of books and coffee,
and a few feathers here and there.
And today it's phinally
#peacockphriday again.
This is also my 200th post.
Since I started this new, replacement
account, that is, after my old one
was hijacked.

🦚💜📘📚
I'm going to take a break from Bookstagram,
so you won't be seeing much of me around here.
Real life is too demanding, and something
has to give.
So, hugs and best wishes to all you
wonderful people, for peace and contentment,
a very festive Season, filled with love and
books and coffee and time,
and twinkly lights, and cuddles with
your loved ones.
Strut on!!
🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚🦚
Pages and Feathers, signing out for a while.
Love you guys

#bookstaobscura
(created by @booksafterten)
Which, as I understand it,
is a chance to feature books
you've never seen on Bookstagram.
Now, I don't pretend to have looked
at every bookish corner of IG in
their entirety, but here are a few that
I am fairly sure are pretty obscure.
A few of these might have been seen on my old,
stolen account but I don't think they're
there any more, so technically,
I'd consider them gone.

Except perhaps Barbara Hanrahan, because I think @jennyramosdiaz
might have featured her before...

"There are few people whom I really love, and still fewer of whom I think well. The more I see of the world, the more am I dissatisfied with it; and every day confirms my belief of the inconsistency of all human characters, and of the little dependence that can be placed on the appearance of merit or sense.”

HAPPY MONTH OF MAY 🌸🌻🌷

Sharing with you book dedications i absolutely adore, tagged by @artbyondrea 💕

I always look forward to reading book dedications because it's a glimpse of the author in a more personal light, and so I've come up with these as my absolute favorites!

🥐 dedications that is so smooth & give you a glimpse of the author's life

"This book is dedicated to the hundreds of campus journalists I've had the honor of meeting and with whom I have shared a passion for journalism..." (Salud, 2019: I, Journalist and Other Newsroom Introspections)

🥐 dedications that only make sense when you read the book

"Mom, Dad, Tiffy." (Miller, 2019: Know My Name)

🥐 dedications that remind you of your precious existence

"If you need this book, this is for you." (Machado, 2019: In The Dream House)

QOTD: What are you favorite book dedications?

Tagged a couple of you guys to share yours, too! 💕

🙋🏿🙋🏿 MEET ME IN MEMES 🙋🏿🙋🏿

Are you an overthinker?

Sooooo I took this challenge too seriously.

Literally two hours of trying to find the perfect memes to encapsulate the totality of my personality ended with me googling "memes about overthinking things". 😂

Does anyone else get like this about things that truly do not matter whatsoever?

I mean, I do really hope you enjoy this post. It was very fun to put together, and also an exercise in analysing every aspect of myself.

Thank you @flamingo.and.owl.books for tagging me in this challenge, and I've tagged a bunch of others to take part too.

P.S. This is a very staged photo of me outside a bookshop on a walk today, but I did not go in because....
a) I have too many books
b) there was a queue

Thank you @georgia_rose_brown for being my impromptu photographer
