Heels Class with Ashley 👠✨

After just a few classes, I’m feeling like a completely different dancer. Honestly, half the battle is just confidence and how you perceive yourself in the movement. This week got a bit vulnerable because Ashley pulled out the mirror.

We’ve been learning the choreography without a mirror the last few weeks to get the feeling down. Even when I’m doing Afro, I usually avoid looking at myself because I don’t like watching myself dance—I just like to feel it. But the mirror forces you to confront yourself in a completely different way.
I don’t mind technical corrections, but facing the actual energy you have to project while dancing has been scary for me. Ashley brought it right out of me, and guess what?? I’m still here! 🤣

I face my fears in so many areas of life, but I’ve always shied away in the artistic world. That’s exactly why you don’t see much solo content from me—why make solo content if you’re scary?! Haha, just being real with myself. 🤷🏾‍♀️

This experience felt so amazing, hitting a level I haven’t felt in a long time. Ashley even brought out a chair and broke down how to handle props. There are so many layers and realms to dance that it almost makes me wish I started at a younger age. But we are here now! All I can do is continue being my best self. Whenever I have kids, I’m definitely going to guide them into dance and fully explore any artistic talents they have.

Thank you Ashley for using the gifts God gave you to inspire others. I love heels dance. 🌺❤️‍🔥

Heels class with these two beautiful ladies. ❤️
Much appreciation to Ashley, a Dance 👑 She’s an amazing teacher.

We went through foundational heel techniques. I’ve admired heels for quite a while and I love how intentional you have to be in heel movements. I’m excited to see, feel and understand the process and progress. 💐

✨ THIS IS WHERE IT ALL BEGINS ✨

Learning to dance in heels isn’t just about learning choreography—it’s about preparing your body for the movement. 👠

For beginners, warming up, building flexibility, and incorporating strength workouts are all a BIG part of the process. Your body needs time to develop the mobility, balance, strength, and stamina needed to move confidently and safely in heels.

💪🏽 Flexibility helps you move with more freedom.
🔥 Warm-ups prepare your body for movement.
🦵🏽 Strength training builds stability and control.
❤️‍🔥 Stamina helps you keep going through choreography and performance.

The goal isn’t to be perfect on day one. The goal is to build your foundation, strengthen your body, gain confidence, and grow with every training session.

This is where the journey begins for our beginners and these ladies were ready to work Week 1 of The Heel Effect Program.

Stay tuned for their beautiful journey! 👠✨
