Oblique work is the BIGGEST DETOX. I always add twisting into my workouts after an INDULGENT weekend. Enjoy a classically inspired sequence to reset the spine and the gut 💩

DEETZ⬇️⬇️
(1) spine twist supine - knees start over hips and stay at a 90 degree angle the whole time as you twist from the bellybutton and down. Keep the shoulders GLUED to the earth the whole time.
(2) alternating toe taps with a rotation - I’m staying in neutral (no shocker) and rotating from the bellybutton and up this time. Never flattening my low back into the mat. That means that my elbow doesn’t even come close to the knee.
(3) hamstring pull 3 - same as #2 just with a straight leg. Bonus hamstring stretch yummy.
(4) rotated chest leg extensions - the harder you press the opposite arm into the bent knee, the harder it is on the transverse abdominis. How cool.

All black. Rooftop views. A casual attack on my core. 🔥

The Athletic Club: Pilates Edition brought the heat to @grandhyattdenver Tiny movements have absolutely no business being that disrespectful.

Shoutout to @mallory_dawnnn + @aavabody for bringing everyone together and @jen_neapolitan of @at_our_core for making us earn those post class mimosas. 🥂

Cues I use instead of “engage your core” 👀

Sometimes a little image makes a cue click so much faster. These are some of my go-to cues I use in classes to help you actually understand what you’re looking for, rather than just telling you to “engage.”

A reminder that neutral spine looks different on every body, and not every cue will work for every person, especially with injuries or individual considerations. These are simply tools I use in a general group setting to help you connect to your body a little better. ✨

Lmk if you have any questions!

A little reminder to slow down, breathe it in, and actually notice how good life is. 🤍

Thank you, @jen_neapolitan & @gabzusin , for the invitation to slow down and bask in a little gratitude this morning. Rooftop Pilates, sunshine, good people… not exactly a bad way to start the day.

And congratulations on your new venture! So excited to watch you both build something beautiful. ✨ @at_our_core

Cueing is literally the difference between a fine class and an EXCEPTIONAL class. The right cue can help you tap into deeper layers of your body and squeeze every last bit of goodness from a particular exercise.

It warms my soul when a student tells me that something I said during class helped them experience a movement in a new way ☕️

Also I know you’re all wondering…OBVIOUSLYYY the teacher in question is ICON @jen_neapolitan 🙌🏼
