For so long I thought I needed more discipline, when what I really needed was to start saying NO!

It starts NOW!

No I don’t want to.
No I don’t have the time.
No I don’t have the energy.

Neuropsychologist Tiffany Shelton shows us how to get 10 Hours back in our week on the latest episode of The NEXT Best Thing!

What does it mean to make space?

Not just physically, but for the things we’ve been carrying without even realizing we’re carrying them.

In my conversation with @dionnadorsey she talked about clearing space in her creativity, her heart and her mind so she can actually receive what’s coming NEXT.

Sometimes we’re so focused on doing that we don’t stop to make room for what we truly want. Maybe that’s part of the work, too.

Looking back on a fun and energizing day with @weareluminary last week! Cate and the Luminary team have such a way of bringing amazing people together to talk about their incredible work.

I’m grateful for the important and inspiring conversations we had, sparked by some very inspiring speakers, and the chance to connect with entrepreneurial friends old and new. One of my favorite parts of the day was seeing some of my @watchherprosper clients at the event!

Thank you @cateluzio and Luminary for hosting us!

“I was paying rent on my past life.”

Whew!! How many of us are doing the same? 👀 Holding on to old versions of ourselves, things we’ve built, and chapters we’ve outgrown while trying to figure out what’s NEXT?

But what if the NEXT chapter doesn’t need to start right away? What if you need to make room for it first?

Dionna Dorsey and I had one of my favorite conversations about endings, identity, letting go, and giving yourself permission to sit in the in-between.

Dionna is truly REAL one! ❤️

When I walk into an event @weareluminary the community is palpable. These are only a few of the beautiful individuals I reconnected with or met for the first time yesterday. I’ll share more from the programming later but I needed a post to just share the positive energy that’s ushering me into the start of October.

You see the life you want while scrolling on your feed.

It feels like so many others have the opportunities.
The business.
The freedom.
The rooms you want to be in.

But do you know what it took to build it?

The years nobody saw.
The money invested before there was a return.
The rejection.
The scrutiny.
The uncomfortable decisions.
Did I say the rejection?

Remember, we may see the result. We rarely see the road that got them there.

That’s the question I’m unpacking in the new episode of The NEXT Best Thing.

Rushing into your NEXT move isn’t the same as making progress.

Clarity comes before momentum. So the first thing I had to do when I burned out for the 50-leventh time was to make space…real space, just to hear myself think.

What was really draining me?
What did I need?
Who could I ask for help?

Some seasons call for a small adjustment. Others call for a complete rebuild.

What helps you make room to think? 🙏🏾

I go deeper on this in my episode 🎧 “I Burned Out. Here’s How I’m Rebuilding My Life and Career.” You can find it on your favorite podcast platform.

“Taking a break doesn’t mean you failed. Sometimes it means you finally listened to yourself.

Five months ago I stepped away from The NEXT Best Thing podcast after completely burning out. There wasn’t even any energy to push through or try harder. So I just STOPPED.

And it worked. I rested and started cutting things out of my routine.
I spent even more time with friends and family.
My theme music was turned back up.

Come to find out… I had more to say on this podcast, and more of my friends that I really want to introduce you to.

The NEXT Best Thing Podcast is officially back!!!

Well… I’m back behind the mic. 🎙️

It’s been five months since I last published an episode of The NEXT Best Thing Podcast, and honestly, I NEEDED the time away.

A lot has changed. I’ve been asking myself some real questions about work, ambition, what happens when things don’t go according to plan, and what I actually want NEXT.

I have a whole new slate of guests, deeper conversations that don’t make the highlight reel.

🎧 The NEXT Best Thing Podcast returns on September 16th!!! 🎧

Okay…deep breath…

I’m really glad to be back!
