True equality is not about deciding what liberation should look like for women. It is about allowing women to define it for themselves.

Let women choose. Let women live.

If someone had told me a year ago that I would be here today, I would have looked at them in disbelief.

It is such a huge honour to be part of the Journey exhibition with Karan Thakur at @blicklingnt @nationaltrust.

To the beautiful team at @blicklingnt, thank you. You have been incredible.

And @__xmariya @_m.arif_, thank you so much for representing Avizeh and our team when I couldn’t be there myself. It means more than I can say.

I’ve been hearing that families and children are coming especially to see my work, and truly, what more could I ask for? That is the part I cherish most.

To be able to share the stories of our artisans, to share the beauty and centuries-old craft of Afghanistan, is deeply emotional for me.

Maybe a little girl will walk into that room and discover what centuries of Afghan fashion, craftsmanship discover what centuries of Afghan fashion, craftsmanship and talent hold. Maybe she will see Afghanistan through its artistry, its hands, its history and its beauty.

Because these are not simply clothes.

They carry the stories of real Afghan women and men , their hands, their journeys, their resilience, and their hope to build something meaningful and sustainable.

To have those stories seen, remembered and cherished is everything.

This is one of those moments in my life that I never expected at all. Coming in second place, representing both Britain and Afghanistan at the same time, feels truly surreal to me.

My genuine love for Uzbekistan, my deep respect for its people, and the purity of their hearts brought me back to learn more especially about Bukhara, its art, and its incredible craftsmanship. I never imagined I would even be considered among so many talented artists and masters.

There were over 156 international artists alongside more than 2000 Uzbek craftsmen and artisans, which makes this recognition even more meaningful to me.

A huge thank you to the Uzbekistan government for making this possible, @hunarmand_uyushmasi and to every volunteer, organiser, artist, and supporter who welcomed and encouraged me throughout this journey. Uzbekistan holds such a special place in my heart thank you for your kindness and warmth.

Last but not least, thank you to the beautiful @nadja_zdravkova for your support and your genuine desire to see Central Asia shine collectively.

The category I won was “The Jeweller Who Revived Ancient Traditions,” and for me, it is especially beautiful to stand representing the UK alongside Afghanistan in this moment. Forever grateful.
