🥉3. Platz beim Österreichischen Jazzpreis 2026 in der Kategorie "Best Newcomer"!🥉

Avin Ahmadi verbindet persische Tradition, Jazz und Improvisation zu einer eigenständigen musikalischen Sprache. Die 2004 in Teheran geborene Musikerin studiert heute Jazz-Improvisation an der Anton Bruckner Privatuniversität und machte 2023 mit ihrem Solodebüt im Porgy & Bess auf sich aufmerksam. Ihr Soloprojekt „Qayeq“ wurde für NASOM 2025/26 ausgewählt, ihre Debüt-EP „Liminal“ international wahrgenommen. Auch mit dem gemeinsamen Album „Until We Meet Again“ mit Lorenz Widauer zeigt sie ihre vielseitige musikalische Handschrift.

Some photos from my solo performance at Hybrid Concert Series on October 1st with @borderlesscreatures at @galilaeakirche 🎻✨

I performed my new unreleased solo work, combining acoustic cello with live electronics, looping, field recordings, and improvisation. I’ve been exploring different ways of bringing these sounds together, creating layers and textures that move between acoustic and electronic worlds.

It was really nice to share this music live, especially in such a beautiful setting with all the visuals and installations around me.

Thanks to Borderless Creatures for putting together this lovely night, to @viamoras for her live visual performance, to @fadialjabour for the beautiful stage design and to everyone who came and listened! ✨
