💙BACA Bay Area Monthly Luncheon 💙

As the BACA Bay Area Luncheon Chair, I would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Barbara Holguin, Founder, and Director of Research of Discovery Alcohol & Drug Education Program, for joining us and sharing more about the important work her organization provides within our community.

Barbara brings more than 10 years of experience within the probation and parole system, along with extensive experience working within the criminal court system. Through that experience, she recognized the need for a program that could bring education, treatment, and support together in one place.

Since 2016, Barbara has worked to build Discovery Alcohol & Drug Education Program into a trusted and accessible community resource. By combining state-approved programs with decades of experience in criminal justice and substance abuse services, Discovery provides clients with a structured and supportive approach from initial enrollment through completion.

We truly appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the services Discovery provides and the role education, treatment, accountability, and support can play in helping individuals move forward.

A special thank you to Barbara for taking the time to educate our members, share her experience, and introduce us to another valuable resource available within our community.

We would also like to extend a special thank you to PAM North for hosting our luncheon and providing such a welcoming space for our members and guests.

And of course, thank you to our wonderful lunch sponsors for helping make this luncheon possible. Your support is truly appreciated and plays such an important part in bringing our community together.

I am grateful to everyone who attended, supported, and continues to make BACA Bay Area a place where professionals can connect, learn from one another, and discover resources that allow us to better serve the individuals and families in our community.

Birthing the shoulders is often the hardest part.

Just when you think you can’t push anymore, there is still one more push required.

Self-worth works the same way.

You may have already done the hardest part—building, fighting, achieving success, and earning respect.

But fulfillment often requires one final identity push.

Push past who you’ve become into who you were always meant to be.

You’re allowed to change your identity. When you start doing your self-worth work — who you used to identify as will change.

Today I had the honor of attending a live taping of The Cry But Don’t Quit Show here in Houston.

Being in a room full of women who have pushed through their breaking points and still chose to rise… that’s a different kind of energy.

So proud to support Barbara and everything she’s building. This is more than a show: it’s real stories, real strength, and real purpose.

Grateful to be in spaces like this. This is what growth looks like.

Yesterday I attended the CEO Table Event 🖤

Women from every walk of life, different industries, different seasons, different stories. All sharing one thing: a love for entrepreneurship, growth, and becoming.

The panel was honest. The conversations were real. There was intentional space for both networking and relaxation. And I left the way I always leave these rooms — inspired, grounded, and ready.

@bossesnetworking has been such a pivotal part of my journey here in Houston. And I don’t take these rooms for granted.

To every woman in this reel, I thank you for showing up and sharing space with me. Go give them all a follow.

Can’t wait for the next one.
