Soil moisture sensors offer smarter, more precise irrigation management than traditional rain sensors—especially in rainy climates like Tampa Bay.
Installed directly in the root zone, soil sensors measure actual moisture levels and communicate with the irrigation controller. When adequate moisture is present, irrigation is suspended. Once the soil reaches its Maximum Allowable Depletion (MAD) threshold, watering is allowed to cycle.
Instead of watering simply because the schedule says it’s time, irrigation responds to actual landscape conditions.

There are a handful of systems I haven’t had the chance or pleasure of putting my hands on. This @baseline_irrigation controller will be the first of its kind that I have had the opportunity to do troubleshooting on. Follow me for more! I post stuff like this almost every single day #SprinklerDude with @nashvilleirrigationandlighting

As Smart Irrigation Month comes to a close, here’s what matters most: the work does not end when July does.

#SmartIrrigationMonth was never just about the technology, it’s about the mindset. This July, contractors, property managers, facility teams, and water nerds across the industry chose to wear blue and put #waterconservation front and center. For the water managers, designers, and green industry professionals doing this work, it’s not a one-month campaign, it’s a year-round discipline. Every drop counts, every day, on every site.

That kind of collective action is what actually moves the needle. Thank you to everyone who participated, shared the message, and showed up for this work every day, every week, and every year. You are the reason #watermanagement professionals trust HydroPoint, and you are the ones making the real difference for the landscapes and communities that depend on you.

And a huge thank you to our #HydroPoint team, who went above and beyond all month to bring this to life. We couldn’t be prouder.

Let’s continue smart irrigation, all year long. 💙

The Real Cost of Fast Fixes vs. Long-Term Integrity

Deciding to install #batterytimers to bypass electrical repairs directly compromises the intelligence and reliability of advanced irrigation systems. This temporary fix creates a data gap, preventing the real-time #flowmonitoring essential for resource #optimization and asset protection.

Preventive maintenance is the only path to transforming a high-risk liability into an optimized asset.

12’ x 8’ doesn’t sound like much… but this is where it starts.

This space is currently under construction, but soon it becomes Studio H2O.

A place dedicated to real conversations in irrigation.
Not just what works… but why it works.

I’ll be breaking down systems, troubleshooting in the field, and diving into water efficiency and conservation. But more importantly…

I’ll be bringing in voices from across the industry.

Contractors.
Educators.
Innovators.
And the people behind the products we use every day.

There’s a lot that goes into the tools we install, and I think it’s time we start having more conversations about that.

Quick question…

Are you a manufacturer’s representative or part of a team behind the products we use in the field?

There are a lot of contractors here who would benefit from hearing directly from you. The details, the decisions, the “why” behind the products.

If that’s you… or you know someone who should be part of the conversation… let’s connect.

This industry has a lot of knowledge… and a lot of stories that haven’t been told yet.

This room is where that starts.

Stay tuned.

On Wednesday we hosted a great group of property managers, grounds teams, facility managers, and suppliers at our Plain City headquarters for an educational presentation with Baseline Irrigation Systems. The session focused on the benefits of smart irrigation controllers and the latest technology shaping the irrigation industry. 💧

Water conservation continues to be a major challenge and an important priority for many of our clients. As one of the fastest rising utility costs, water management plays a significant role in operating expenses. By installing and properly maintaining smart irrigation systems, we can significantly reduce water usage while keeping landscapes healthy.

In fact, for one client last year we were able to reduce their water bill by 54% — even during a drought year!🌱

Education and strong partnerships with our clients are essential. Opportunities like this allow us to share knowledge, explore new technology, and continue delivering the best products, service, and outcomes for the properties we manage.

Thank you to Baseline Irrigation for partnering with us on this presentation! To learn more about our Water Management and Irrigation Services, check out our website: https://www.landscapepros.com/water-management
