One of the greatest gifts my parents gave me wasn't perfection.

It was watching them apologize.

Growing up, my parents didn't pretend they always got it right. When they made a mistake, they owned it. They apologized. And then they modeled something just as important: reconciliation.

That shaped how I parent.

It shaped my marriage.

It taught me that saying "I'm sorry" doesn't make you weak and that it makes your relationships stronger.

We also learned something else...

Just because someone hurts you doesn't mean they stop hurting too.

Families aren't built by avoiding conflict. They're built by learning how to repair it.

Because one day, the little people watching us today will be leading families of their own tomorrow.

🎙️ Tune in to this heartfelt episode of @behindthethrone04 with our moms as we unpack the lessons, values, and wisdom that shaped the women we are today. Watch, listen, and join the conversation. #linkinbio

Nobody tells you that motherhood asks you to let go... over and over again.

My mom said something that stopped me in my tracks:

'Sometimes the weight of motherhood feels like a heavy rain and all you can do is let it pour and hope and pray for the rainbow.'

She reminded us that after years of changing diapers, protecting, fixing, and guiding eventually love looks different.

Sometimes the greatest act of motherhood isn't holding on.

It's stepping back.

If you're raising children or learning to love your adult children, then this conversation is for you. ❤️

What's one lesson your mother taught you about letting go?

Grind culture is loud.

But clarity is quiet.

In this episode of @behindthethrone04, we challenge the pressure to chase what’s trending, what’s flashy, what looks impressive on someone else’s timeline.

What if success isn’t what society applauds?

What if it’s alignment?

Alignment with your goals.
Your pace.
Your definition of happiness.

Not the newest influencer.
Not the loudest voice in the room.
Not the highlight reel.

Just you asking:
Are my goals good enough for me?
Am I actually happy?

For a generation taught to hustle first and reflect later, this conversation is an invitation to pause and redefine.

🎧 Tune in and ask yourself the harder question:
What does success look like when it’s truly yours?

What if your “soft life” isn’t a vacation…

It’s three minutes in your driveway.

Engine off.
Door closed.
One song.
Nobody calling your name.

In this episode of @behindthethrone04, we talk about scheduling softness not someday, but daily.

Because sometimes self-care isn’t a retreat.
It’s a boundary.

It’s getting up before the house wakes up.
It’s ending the day on the porch.
It’s deciding that refueling is not optional.

Soft life doesn’t have to be dramatic.
It has to be intentional.

And yes, it can be done with active kids, full calendars, and real responsibilities.

The question isn’t *“Do I have time?”
It’s *“Have I protected it?”*

🎧 Press play if you need permission to schedule yourself in.

We’ve learned how to book the massage.
Schedule the manicure.
Light the candle.

But is that self-care… or presentation?

In this episode of @behindthethrone04, we unpack the difference between self-care and a soft life.

One is often external.
The other is internal.

Self-care can help us look restored.
A soft life asks: Are we regulated? Are we nourished? Are we aligned?

It’s not just about how we appear in the world.
It’s about how we inhabit our bodies in the world.

Where are you holding stress?
Where is the grief stored?
What would it mean to move it instead of mask it?

Sometimes the most radical shift isn’t another spa day.
It’s intentionally reconnecting mind, body, and spirit.

🎧 This conversation goes deeper than trends. It invites embodiment.

“I want a soft life.”

And suddenly it sounds like rebellion.

For some, it sounds like laziness.
For others, it sounds like gratitude undone.
For a generation raised on sacrifice, it can feel almost offensive.

But what if “soft” doesn’t mean quitting?

What if it means:
Not being Superwoman.
Not carrying everything.
Not proving your worth through exhaustion.

What if it means rest without guilt?
Ambition without self-abandonment?
Success without burnout as a badge of honor?

In this episode of @behindthethrone04, we unpack the generational tension around the “soft life” especially for women who were raised by strength, survival, and sacrifice.

Is it lazy?
Or is it evolution?

🎧 Listen in and ask yourself:
When you say you want a soft life… what do you really mean?

There’s a particular kind of courage in saying yes to your calling…

When you can’t see the whole staircase.

When you were raised by sacrifice.
When you watched your mother give without pause.
When brunch wasn’t a thing. Rest wasn’t modeled. Boundaries weren’t named.

And now you’re choosing something different.

Not because you dishonor what they built.
But because you are building from it.

In this episode of @behindthethrone04, we talk about faith, calling, and the quiet tension of being fully supported… and still bracing yourself.

Bracing for how your ambition will be received.
Bracing for whether your rest will be understood.
Bracing for whether this generation’s boundaries feel foreign to the last.

Sometimes growth looks like incremental steps.
Sometimes it looks like not hiding the day you took off.
Sometimes it looks like saying, “This is what I need,” and trusting it will be honored.

Calling requires belief.
But it also requires standing in it even when you’re still explaining it.

🎧 Tune in if you’re walking by faith and redefining what support, rest, and legacy look like in your generation.

We talk about leadership.
We talk about impact.
We talk about performance.

But we don’t talk enough about where we’re holding the stress, pressure, and unspoken weight of responsibility.

Behind every title is a body.
Behind every decision is a nervous system.

This latest episode of @behindthethrone04 explores something we often ignore which is how the body carries what the mind tries to manage.

What if leadership isn’t just strategy…
What if it’s regulation?
What if it’s learning how to move the pain instead of store it?

For the leaders who are strong for everyone else: this conversation is for you.

🎧 Listen in. Your body might be waiting for you to pay attention.

I had the pleasure of entering Women's History Month with some phenomenal queens. Check out @behindthethrone04 as we indulge in a dynamic conversation about the "soft life."
A soft life doesn’t mean a life without responsibilities or challenges. It means you stop volunteering for unnecessary hardship and start choosing what supports your well-being. #choosesoftness #chooseyou #stillness #wellnessmatters #drh💪🏾

"My child is too young to talk about race..."
I hear this often. But the research tells a different story.

By age 2, children begin to notice racial differences.
By 3 to 5, they start forming biases based on what they see, hear and what we don’t say.

As we begin Black History Month, this is your reminder: It’s never too early to raise conscious, curious, and compassionate children.

In this clip from @Behindthethrone04, I talk about the importance of early, honest conversations about race not just during February, but all year long. Because silence doesn’t protect our kids. It just leaves them to fill in the blanks.

Let’s raise a generation that doesn’t just know Black history, but understands Black humanity.

“There’s a moment when it all unlocks when a woman fully steps into her power, her purpose, and her voice. That moment? It changes everything.”

As we begin 2026, this is your reminder that your moment is coming or maybe, it’s already here.

In this episode of the @BehindtheThrone04 podcast, we talk about what it means to embrace our power, rewrite limiting narratives, and show up as the women we were always meant to be.

Here’s to a year of unlocking, unlearning, and unapologetically leading. 💫

Reposting with the right @behindthethrone04 clip:

On our @behindthethrone04 podcast I asked #MEH3, “What makes Mommy happy?”

And he said: “When I don’t wake you up at 4:30 in the morning to talk.” 😂

And honestly… he’s not wrong.

It got me thinking: Why do kids always want to have their deepest conversations when we’re asleep? Especially on a holiday weekend… when that sleep is already precious!

I know I’m not alone here. Does anyone else have a child who suddenly becomes a TED Talk speaker only between 3–5AM? Or am I really alone and if so please tell me what I am doing wrong!?

Sending love, laughter, and maybe a nap this Saturday afternoon to all the parents out there! 💛
