It’s time to start the year ON THE DANCE FLOOR!✨

We are so excited to welcome Joro-Boro to the stage…

🔊 Joro-Boro was born and raised in Bulgaria.
After moving to New York City, he got offered a DJ residency at the Bulgarian Bar (Mehanata) alongside Eugene Hütz (Gogol Bordello), where he pioneered the Balkan music and Balkan Beat scenes in the United States. He then moved on to become part of the Brooklyn Underground and an early promoter and producer of Global Bass.

🎧 He released on a number of international labels. Lately, his interests have shifted to the conscious dance movement and he regularly plays at events like Ecstatic Dance.

🔊 Joro-Boro plays Earth Bass - an exploration of various musical traditions and the slow, sensual, and spacious side of bass music. He has toured with Anna Morgan, Balkan Beat Box, and Filastine and has performed with artists ranging from Omar Souleyman to Questlove.

❣️ Joro-Boro is half of the ritual bass project
b e i n g - s o u n d with his partner Keena Maya.

He is also a part of Collective BAE.

Just 8 more days until we blast off into the exploration of the transformative power of music and sound! 🚀 We would love to explore the impact that music and sound can have on our health and wellbeing with YOU! ✨

This year's theme, "Sound Guides," invites artists and guests to craft works that act as guides on a journey of self-discovery and communal harmony. Our curated experiences aim to immerse participants in a world where music and sound become pathways to understanding and connection.

We will begin our Saturday Sound Journey at Mont Royal park with a Forest Sound Meditation guided by our guests from New York, artists @beingsound as part of our Project Immersed: Sound Guides journey at Centre PHI, Friday Oct 4 + 5th.

Here’s a bit about the experience:
Ecology of Sound - A Rooted Listening Practice with b e i n g - s o u n d
Saturday: 11:00 - 12:30
Location: Mont Royal, meeting place. Angel statue.

This is an introduction to the practice of Rooted Listening.

This is free with your ticket. RSVP to us here or link in bio 🔗

A form of eco-mindfulness that works with the auditory sense. The practice extends listening into a perception of feeling and noticing the subtle - listening as a way of being. The practice aims to experience being beyond the binaries of subject/object, culture/nature, human/non-human. We start by grounding in the breath and we keep the root of our focus on the breath throughout. We then expand our awareness into open active listening to include all sounds.

Tickets on sale now! Buy early to RSVP to some of the limited event pieces!
