Another #10miletuesday bridge loop with some nasty wind on the Gardens Bridge. Miles have been low last few weeks, time to pick it back up.

#1 Atlantic City Marathon

Started the season nice and easy! Got switched to a slower pace than usual. Rookie move with the outfit 🤦‍♀️. Tights and long sleeves with the sun out! 🥵 Those 20 mph winds helped for temperature, but not running. Headwinds!

Was missing my Auntie Marlene and all our little race-weekend traditions 😢. RIP.

Had a great group of first timers and runners chasing PRs.

The rerouted course made me excited, haha. Less boardwalk and a nice change after 12 years of running the same route. (Omg, have I done it that many times!!)

Few highlights-

✨ Jen: We met at the expo, where she had doubts shaving 7 minutes off her time. I told her to find me at the start, and we’d get it done! She looked fresh the whole way. At 20, I sent her ahead. She finished with an 11 minute PR! She wanted to Venmo me afterward 😂. I was like, nooo. We do this for fun! ☺️

✨ Jeremy: Back to a marathon after 20 years! His last was NYC, when registration was still done by mail-in entry! He finished close to the same time as 20 years ago. His son Ryan ran, too. His first, finishing 1.5 hours ahead of us!

✨ Bill: Celebrating his 70th birthday! His FIRST marathon was last weekend at Chicago, at age 69!!!! Love this. Proof it’s never too late!

Today was amazing for so many reasons. I ran the @ac_marathon_race_series AC Half Marathon - it wasn’t fast, but it’s the farthest I’ve ran since Boston last spring. Being able to cover the distance was a huge accomplishment since coming back from my injury, and I am proud of that.

I’m also so proud of Rachel for completing her goal of running a marathon in all 50 states, and she chose Jersey to be the last one so that so many of our awesome @hylandspowered teammates from the Boston 2018 team could reunite. Well done my friends! You are all rockstars, and I feel lucky to know you all. 🫶🏼🧡🍎

#10miletuesday was rough on tired legs and hardly any sleep, but once I got over 9th street bridge it got easier. This cooler weather makes everything more pleasant. Speaking of, pretty soon 10 mile Tuesdays are gonna be on trails 😍
