POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Something I haven't shared before. Last year in October I joined a team of world class highliners from around the world to help rig the new world record for the world's longest highline at 4km (2.5mi) long across the desert of Utah near Moab.

The project took 5 days culminating in @da_logster successfully crossing the line into the night under the full moon. Originally I was only supposed to come and document the project but quickly I became a member of the rigging team and my hands were on webbing just as much as on my camera.

I had the opportunity to write and help curate this story for @utahlifemag in the Aug/Sept print issue. Told through my own experience of the project and filled with unique characters and adventure.

Thanks to @da_logster for leading this project and for everyone on the team that made this project a reality, (see tags on each page). It was also my privilege to meet and spend time with the legendary Andy Lewis, who sadly passed away earlier this year, but who had helped create everything this sport is today.

Beyond grateful for the opportunity to be a part of the team and proud to finally put this story to page for readers to enjoy.

A short edit of the 2026 Shenxianju Highline Challenge…

With the 2026 Shenxianju Highline Challenge now officially concluded, I would like to extend my sincere gratitude to everyone involved. Your understanding and support were essential to making this event such a success.

As a co-organizer, this year’s competition was a very different experience for me personally. I faced unprecedented pressure, both from personal circumstances and external factors. Yet I have also found that greater pressure can bring greater motivation. Along the way, I gained valuable lessons that will serve our future projects well, along with many fresh ideas I hope to share with you in the months ahead.

I even got the chance to compete in the relay race which was so much pressure but also tons of fun. Though didn’t do well, apologies to my team mates @sedlacekerika @magodoequilibrio but I promise to work on it and try do better next time.

Here are the results of 100m

Male
@lp_liliangpeng 🥇
@magodoequilibrio 🥈
@sascha.grill 🥉

Female
@sedlacekerika 🥇
Jiaxing Zheng(郑嘉杏)🥈
@mianoblet 🥉

Shenxianju is truly a magical place. Thank you once again to each and every person who contributed. Let us look forward to what lies ahead.

The atlete shirt 👕🇵🇱🙃 Thanks to @slackhouseshop and @base_danceacademy I can now race on highlines with an attire that represents me, my country and my sponsor affiliation. It did not quite arrive on time to wear it while setting a 1 km world record at #slotwinyworldcup, but right after I had the pleasure to show it for the first time while standing on top of the podium 🏆 From that point the story continues to develop quite interestingly: I wear the shirt while giving a talk & workshop in my hometown, and on the second photo You can see me showing a clip from the Yellow River in China. One week later, I come to the Yellow River again, and have the first opportunity to actually race in my athlete shirt. It seems that the day is not ideal: I oversleep, come to my quarterfinal last minute, the line is wet and hard to control. I struggle and almost lose the quarterfinal, only my opponent's fall on the last step of the second run decided that I still have a chance. And yet, in the later phases, I endure, staying stable and fast enough in an intense downpour, while my faster opponents fall multiple times on wet surfy webbing. And thus, the dawn of my "athlete shirt phase" begins with two gold medals in one month 🥇🥇 Not expecting to keep on winning, especially seeing how the level grows everywhere, especially in China. Still, I'm excited to bring Polish colors around the world on a few more competitions in the next few years 🙂

More importantly, we would like to sincerely thank every athlete who took the time to record and submit a wildcard attempt. Every submission represents training, courage, effort, and a willingness to put yourself out there—and we truly appreciate it.

The purpose of this wildcard was simple: to give athletes another opportunity to earn their place through current performance on the line, regardless of where they come from or their existing ranking.

To those who made it: welcome to Shenxianju. 🇨🇳

And to everyone who participated but didn't make it this time: thank you for being part of this. We hope this is only the beginning, and that future editions will allow us to create even more opportunities for athletes from around the world.

The field is coming together.

Now it's time to race. ⚡

We know athlete selection for the Shenxianju Highline Challenge 2026 has raised questions, and we believe it’s important to be open about how these decisions were made.

In this post, we explain our selection process, including how we considered recent Laax results, athlete availability, budget, and international representation, as well as how our Chinese national selection works.

We also want to share the support we are providing to international athletes, and an additional Wild Card qualification opportunity for athletes who may still be able to join us on short notice.

Finally, we want to make clear the values we expect throughout the event: performance, respect, safety, and responsibility — toward each other, the local community, and the place we have the privilege of competing in.

We hope this gives everyone a clearer understanding of how and why these decisions were made. Thank you for your understanding and for supporting the Shenxianju Highline Challenge. ❤️
