This publication was produced for Soo Hong’s exhibition View from Outside. It brings together documentation of the artist’s installation works, critical essays, and photographs. Her practice is grounded in architectural structures, and this book reflects that approach both in content and form.

The installation consists of two identical rooms symmetrically divided by a single wall, and to translate this spatial condition into a tactile reading experience, the book adopts a Z-binding structure that physically splits it into two sections—one presenting the main installation images with critical texts, and the other featuring photographs of the space taken by Soo Hong.

About five and a half years ago, the first version of the website for photographer @tillmann_franzen was one of the first digital projects I worked on as a newly self-employed freelance creative (back then together with @peerhempel @felixbe @eduardwarkentin_art ). It’s all the more gratifying that Tillmann reached out to me once again to tackle an update that inclided both usability optimizations and a design evolution. Once again we’ve created a digital presence for Tillmann that fully engages everyone involved in the project. This time, Nicholas Myhring aka @earthcore.services handled the technical implementation. Check it out for yourself—it’s live now.

The Remote Archivist
Series 09 ○ Issue 1 of 1
Annosh Urbanke

The art collective OHO explored the idea of mediality. The name of the group “OHO” comes from a combination of the words “oko” (eye) and “uho” (ear) and refers to the senses through which perception is sensed. They worked close to nature, using simple materials to create works on a small scale. On the threshold of their international success in 1971, they decided to withdraw. They were not interested in the international art discourse and instead decided on building a community. OHO Group’s collective art practice continued on an abandoned farm in Šempas, while growing a community for several more years until Marko and Marika Pogačnik decided to focus on the plot of land as a family.

Annosh Urbanke decided to contact Marko and Marika Pogačnik, knowing that Šempas, whether in a different form, still exists, and that the communal practice continued as a family project. One thing led to another and Annosh travelled to Šempas to learn more about the different stages and art practices that shaped their work and life in Šempas.

For the annual exhibition at Wanås Konst, artist Atang Tshikare was invited by then Creative Leader and Curator Milena Høgsberg to create a new sculptural work for the park, which became Puruma.

This catalogue offers an in-depth exploration through texts by Høgsberg and curator Filipa Ramos, delving into Tshikare’s Puruma as well as his earlier works.

It features two image sections: the first focuses on the newly created Puruma, while the second presents a selection of previous works—introducing us to Tshikare’s practice, which spans over 20 years. Tshikare is based and has his daily practice in Cape Town.
