“You’re still an actor when you’re waitressing. You’re still an actor when you’re baristaing. You’re an actor when you’re answering phones at reception. You’re an actor no matter what it is you’re doing.”

Before ✨Best of the Best✨ made its way to Netflix, Palak Sheth, aka @palakpalooza, and her team were building the very South Asian dance competition that elevated the circuit. They created a space where our music, movement, and stories were celebrated by our own community long before they reached the screen.

Having Palak teach the ✨Best of the Best✨ Bollywood dance class in Chicago brought it all full circle, bringing the energy and spirit of the original competition back to the dance floor.💛✨🤍Much love and a BIG thanks to everyone who joined us to dance, cheer, and reminisce the music and community that raised us!🫶🏽💚

Honored to be present at @netflix x @bfunk dance workshop for Best Of The Best! My heart is full yet again seeing all the happy faces in class. I’m truly proud of the entire BOTB cast and crew as well as Netflix to create safe spaces like these that genuinely uplifts the community. It’s sending such a beautiful message out there. We’re a part of something bigger than we realize. I’m so grateful to be able to contribute a small portion to the same.

@shivanibhagwan @chayakumar you two are the REAL deal! Always down for the right cause and ten toes down for the community. Leaders and pioneers. Thank you for everything!

Big shoutout to @phillipchbeeb @makenzie_dustman @joyakazi for being who they are. Big thank you for their big beautiful brains that created masterpieces. I’m so blessed to have gotten the opportunity to work with y’all🫶🏽✨

What an amazing night last night was!
.
Best of the Best is a must watch and whether you’re into cheezy college movies- this movie is much more than that.
.
It’s an opening for the whole South Asian diaspora to see a main movie in Hollywood made by a South Asian female Muslim woman who knows how to navigate a college friendship/romance movie with such wit, sensitivity, class and spunk.
.
Hats off to you @imlenakhan you are amazing. Not only are you a brilliant director but also an amazing human being who personifies grace, class and humility. It was such a pleasure chatting with you and hearing you talk about your perspectives on everything film and more.
.
Thank you to my UCLA dance partner @asim77 for letting me experience this. You still got the moves and charm- great job setting up everything last night.
.
Shoutout out to my dear friend @bolly_hero who worked so hard on everything for this movie. You earned it!
.
Thank you to @drshebashah for being the best date possible and best Dr (shout out to you!)
.
Watching this movie brought back such great memories for me.
Being at UCLA and dancing - the practices, the competition and the stress of maintaining good grades but also making sure no practice was missed; oh and the Taco Bell runs!!
.
Thank you again Lena for transporting me back.
.
Please all watch it and make sure to double click the like icon.
.
Best of the Best- is truly the best! 💃🧿🙏❤️🔥💯 🐻

What better way to bring in the new @netflix movie than dancing in front of the Times Square billboard with a dance from the movie itself?! 🤩

No better way to celebrate BEST OF THE BEST weekend than our New York City 🗽class than with a spontaneous flash mob in Times Square, right in front of the ‘Best of the Best’ billboard.✨

From collegiate dance teams to the big screen, the six-city dance class experience was deeply personal from the @browngirlmag x @bolly_hero x @pri.planned.it crew.🥹Thank you for having us on board for the ride of a lifetime.

If you haven’t watched the film yet we can promise you it’s proven to be an unforgettable celebration of the movement, music and community that shaped so many of us.💃

Much love to the cast, crew and choreographers @joyakazi x @phillipchbeeb x @makenzie_dustman for going above and beyond to create dance magic.💛
