What’s it actually like working with Nelson? 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

Lou from @box9design puts it perfectly.

When you’re working on detailed commercial projects, having partners who understand the industry, speak the same language and appreciate the smaller details makes all the difference.

With nearly 50 years of experience behind us, that understanding is something we bring to every project, including this beautiful new East Sussex space.

When I first walked in to Denton Hall @dentonreserve I felt something. I see a lot of incredible spaces, but this truly was a sensory experience, impeccably designed by @box9design, I wanted to run my fingers across every texture and use every piece of light falling on walls. When I saw this staircase and the incredible light by @celinewrightparis I saw what I wanted to create and thank you to @dorit_j and @c_m_stella for trusting me.

So, what exactly happens inside this incredible space? 👀

The new @box9design space in East Sussex has been created for meetings, retreats, filming and all kinds of commercial use.

But what makes it really interesting is how every element reflects Box 9’s values, creating an environment designed to have a positive impact on both the people using it and the planet 🌿

Love the way internal cladding can instantly bring warmth, texture and character to a space?

Why stop at the front door?

External cladding is the first layer of your home, setting the tone before you’ve even stepped inside. Natural texture and considered finishes can transform the exterior, creating a warm, welcoming first impression that makes coming home feel even more special.

Because good design should feel inviting from the outside in.

This is what happens when every detail has a purpose 🌿

The new home of @box9design in East Sussex perfectly captures what the business stands for.

From non-toxic materials and bespoke joinery to a beautifully designed kitchen installed by Nelson, every element has been considered around the people using the space and its impact on the planet.

This is commercial design done differently.

Where I’d like to be this foggy Sunday morning: curled up in this corner of @dentonreserve, coffee in hand, with our COSMOS coffee table and beautiful ceramics by Samuel Sparrow of @sparrowandco for company.

Set in the Yorkshire countryside, the eighteenth-century Denton Hall has been thoughtfully restored by @lucy_franks and the team at @box9design. A house with centuries of history, given a new chapter through natural materials, beautiful craftsmanship and rooms that feel this inviting.

Oh there has been hype, but oh does it deliver.

▪️ KİD, Soho

@kid_soho is the new Soho home of chef @sertacdirik , who made his name transforming his family’s MANGAL II into one of London’s most exciting Turkish restaurants. This time he’s teamed up with @david.carter.uk - the legend behind SMOKESTAK, OMA and AGORA.

The food is rooted in Sertaç’s Central Anatolian heritage, but this isn’t your standard ocakbaşı. There’s a wood oven, mangal grill and a lot of fire, with brilliant British produce worked into dishes that feel both familiar and boldly new.

The room is dark, sexy and very of the moment, from @box9design The cocktails hit (we love to see the cosmo resurgence). And the food is insanely good.

Firstly I have to say the Bluefin Ezme with Kapya Pepper was OUTSTANDING. What a bite that was. The Courgette Flower danced in your mouth with the Atom Honey, loved that too.

You can’t order too much Pide and Meze, so go to town. The İçli Köfte with Aged Beef was sensational, another standout. Plus the Cornish Scallop with Coco Bean Fasüly. And my lord the Adana Köfte was a melt-in-the-mouth dream.

Come hungry. Over order. What a meal you’ll have.

Meet Lou Davies, the woman behind @box9design 🏛️

Lou and her team are responsible for some incredible spaces, including hospitality projects you’ll recognise across London.

Now, they’ve created a new home for Box 9 in East Sussex that brings their approach to design, materials and innovation together under one roof.

And yes, we’re pretty proud to have built the kitchen inside it🔧

I love how deliberately the team at BOX 9 uses their earthy, grounded color palette — the same tones, yet never quite the same twice. Everything they touch seems to carry that same warmth.

It's not just visually considered, either. They've found a way to fold materials that support longevity and circularity into every step of the process.

Perhaps that’s what I find so compelling, the way their aesthetic and their approach to materials seem to speak the same language.

“Across grass, water, smoke, and leaves”, my new piece for @kid_soho is now live!

“Across grass, water, smoke, and leaves”
1500 x 2000 x 30 mm
Hand-hammered steel rods, cold-patinated and iron pasted
2026

I'm so excited to share this sculptural steel mobile, balancing with a lantern vase at the lowest drop, positioned above the stairs. The hand-formed joinery, hammered surfaces and dark patina brings the piece closer to the world of objects shaped by time. Using reclaimed material in parts allows the pieces to materially register continuity and transformation.

Dining table historically is a grounded arrangement in which objects, surfaces, and proximity produce a collective field. The sculpture, by contributing to the @box9design 's beautifully executed vision, extends that field architecturally. It is also a contemporary ode to ritual objects in Turkish heritage.

@kid_soho opens September 1st
55 Frith Street, Soho, London

Fabrication with @fabricaderatas ⚡️

A glimpse into the intricacies and design inspiration behind KİD.

- A marrying of Soho’s architectural heritage with the warmth of Central Anatolia (both in design and in hospitality).
- The painstaking detail behind exposed floor to ceiling brickwork. Every measurement at the behest of 102.5mm x 215mm x 65mm (their size).
- An attentiveness to materiality. Sustainable waste brick and post-consumer card repurposed for surfaces. Reclaimed fabrics, dyed by hand and pieced together to give a new life, hand-stitched with kilim-inspired motifs.
- A celebration of the good people bringing this to life @box9design
