Some moments are truly worth celebrating, and some are deserving of our support. I recently returned to Dallas to join in the 15th anniversary celebration of Art House Dallas. After nine years as part of this vibrant community, it was a joy to reconnect with my fellow artists. I didn’t realize how much I missed them! The art community is essential; it provides us with the opportunity to grow, connect, and express our creativity. This brings me to The Skylark. A skylark sings as it soars high above the ground—often heard long before it comes into view. This serves as a beautiful reminder that your voice is important, even when you feel unseen. I’m excited to share that my 12 × 12-inch oil painting on wood panel is featured in the Art House Dallas anniversary art show. You can purchase it through the shop on their website, www.Arthousedallas.com. The best part? Every penny from the sale goes directly to Art House Dallas, supporting the artists and the creative community they cultivate throughout the year. By bringing home a piece of art with a meaningful message, you’re also helping other artists take flight.

344 submissions. Incredible talent from around the world. And so many powerful artistic voices. ✨ I recently had the pleasure of serving on the juror panel for Visionary Magazine’s @visionaryartcollective international exhibition, “Her Wild Becoming,” celebrating contemporary women artists. Going through submissions was both inspiring and challenging. The diversity of artistic practices, perspectives, and personal narratives was remarkable. It was a reminder of why I love curating and why creating opportunities for women artists to be seen and heard is so important to me. Today, I want to highlight one of my favorite artists, Bree Smith @breesmithart, and her vibrant Astronaut Series. 🚀🧑‍🚀 Through futuristic, fashion-forward female astronauts, Bree explores themes of empowerment, strength, beauty, and humour. Her saturated palette of pastels and neons brings an unexpected sense of optimism and playfulness to figures we traditionally associate with exploration and the unknown. What I find particularly interesting is the way she reimagines the astronaut, a symbol historically associated with male achievement, as a confident female figure who occupies space entirely on her own terms.

This mural took a village to paint! I laugh thinking back that, 1..I was worried the design didn’t have enough depth and 2..that I told Landon it would take us 9ish days to paint. Well 20 days later, this definitely turned out to be my most detailed mural yet! I am not the person to ask for help so I’m pretty proud of myself for putting my inner thoughts aside and honestly we still would be painting this mural if we didn’t have the help that we did! Special thanks to @carlyhaynie and @artful_audities for being there pretty much everyday! Couldn’t have done it without yall! @danblack_who @sarah_k_black @_willowandcompany_ @gerigirl @erynnlasse @breesmithart @kindheart.designs @mural_shop @eddiefayeco

💕 B A L A Y A G E 💕 From faded pink to a fresh balayage! She has been using #overtone in her hair for a little while and luckily she stopped using it a few months before her appointment. I like to let all my clients know beforehand that using overtone can stay in your hair until it grows out all the way. She still had a little bit left in her ends but we canceled it out for the most part 👌 Lmk what yall think 😘 #balayage #balayagehighlights #austin #austintexas #austinhairstylist #austinhair #austinhaircolor #austinhairsalon #austinhairstylists
