Today isn’t about a workout. It’s about remembrance.

The Murph is done to honor Lt. Michael Murphy, a Navy SEAL who gave his life during Operation Red Wings in Afghanistan in 2005. Severely outnumbered and under heavy fire, Murphy knowingly stepped into the open to make a call for help for his team — fully aware it would likely cost him his life. His courage and sacrifice saved others, and he was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor.

The pain and exhaustion we feel during Murph is only a tiny reminder of the sacrifice made by men and women like him for our freedom.

We do Murph because freedom isn’t free — and heroes like Michael Murphy deserve to be remembered. 🇺🇸 💪 ❤️

Thank you, @msabato88 @crossfitnorwalk for hosting an unforgettable “ MEMORIAL DAY MURPH”

Emily Rappold at NCFIT nudged me to say yes to a CrossFit Masters Games Team. Thankfully, Elissa Knolla was looking. Four of us from different states in the US became the Perfect Strangers Team. Many thanks to Shad, John, Elissa, and a few strangers for these photos.

We got to be part of a really well run event. The competition floor was gorgeous! The volunteers and crowds were amazing.

We went from 5th place on Day 1 to 7th on Day 2. We made Day 3 moving day with an event win. Overall we had 5 top 5 finishes and 1 event win securing a 3rd place finish and some neat swag.

We made some goofy memories and some friends.

GRATITUDE
God opened these doors for me and walking through them brought me closer to Him, made me lean on Him more. Many thanks to the One who puts breath in my lungs.

NCFIT coaches Margaux, Zach, and Capra, thank you for making me better. WODPrep coach Nelson Slade, thanks for coaching the whole team.

Special thanks to Mike Randal for helping me test some of the workouts

To those who bought Perfect Strangers t-shirts, thank you!
