i got to see some favorite faces, many I hadn’t peeped in far far (far) too long. deep cheers to those hearts/bones that helped to form my own over the last couple decades (+). a spontaneous and yet wildly grounded ushering in to forty. my being is heavy & light & reaching back towards full & whole.

set my feet on dirt in many places from my past. Austin (hometown), Baton Rouge (fathers hometown), Nashville (Alma mater & spent all of my twenties)

featuring: my favorite Nashville (or any) porch & local of conversations with beings of all ages; my college best now being a cool mom to a teen (truly in awe of her, as per always); childhood best friends turning forty among some very rad women, and new friends; touching dirt in my late fathers hometown of Baton Rouge - where I haven’t been in a couple decades; abundant reminders of my pops along the way; Bruce Springsteen charming & speaking truth to power; the wildly talented @saerows performing their new album to a crowd of tears & hearts fully onboard for the ride (all time favorite performance); a lot of green & rain & depth & laughs & cries & perspective & fear & hope & returning to self.

Nel 1609, un riottoso Michelangelo Merisi detto il #Caravaggio, durante il suo difficile soggiorno a Napoli, venne sfregiato proprio dopo essere stato ospite presso la #taverna in questione.

Me lo immagino vagare per i vicoli di #Napoli in una costante ricerca di pace, pace che non arrivo’ mai.

Il locale vale una visita. Unica nota dolente: se ordino un Fiano, al calice e mi arriva un Greco a 12,00 euro al calice… non va bene, amici miei!

Per quel prezzo, almeno avreste dovuto portare la bottiglia a tavola e far vedere cosa si ordina. Sono italiana, non arrivo dal Texas…

Patate e provola era molto
buona, evitare le foglie di basilico antiche a decorazione.

Va bene per uno #stop@ da aperitivo al banco e per il vicolo che è delizioso!

Laughing through tears as we grieve this most special place closing. It feels like grieving a second death, but it was Steven that made “the shop” so legendary. So special to get to help @shanateel13 run the store this week with these special people and a few not shown. “I’m traumatized but having FUN.” “Come on down and shop, the prices are falling, just like our tears!” Neither Steven or @jsfieldsandco will ever be forgotten. ❤️

“When all of your favorite people are sitting in your house drinking your most expensive wine and trying to figure out a way to pay their respects as you would have—with sarcasm and love!”

Today we lost the glue that holds this band of family, beauty queens and misfits together. We are heartbroken. We appreciate all of the love and prayers as we celebrate the giant, extravagant, top-drawer, dapper life of one of our favorite people and closest friends. We wouldn’t be us without Steven.
