Are you disrupting, or are you architecting?

That’s the question I spent last night’s TEDx talk answering, “The Architecture of Disruption.” Disruption tears things down. Architecture builds something the next person can actually live inside.

When it comes to making big change in the world, no one gets to the finish line alone. I looked out into that audience and saw so many friends looking back at me. Steeped in gratitude.

The full talk will be live soon. I’ll post it here the moment it is.

Capriote, 1878, John Singer Sargent at @mfaboston is the perfect in-between time of seasons. Saying goodbye to summer, with its splendid fields of wildflowers, losing saturation after a season in the sun, and an introduction to approaching Autumn..

It’s not every day you get to see how you experience the world through the lens of someone else.

The heat in Paris was heavy, record breaking, but I couldn’t leave without paying respects to some of the beautiful gardens. We left early in the morning and got coffee on the way. I visited the Jardin des Plantes, a lesser celebrated garden in comparison to other places in Paris but no less wonderful. Dating back to the 17th century, the Jardin is Paris’s oldest botanical garden and is located next to the Grande Galerie de l’Évolution. It contains a hidden corner rose garden featuring both Ancient and Modern rose varieties. Though the heat was fatiguing the roses and myself, we had a quiet and beautiful morning in the first rays of the day.
