So quick life update: God has really been working the past couple of months. After I graduate next week, I’ll be the new Middle School Director at First Baptist Concord in Knoxville, Tennessee. I can’t explain how excited I am for this opportunity and to see what God has in store in the next seasons of my life. To my friends, coaches, and everyone around me, I couldn’t have done this without your constant community and guidance. God is so good!

*Sharing to inform about water safety & The Lord’s protection/guidance, once again.*

We went to Stonebridge Beach Club with friends around 10:30am on Thurs 7/28/22. Last time I looked at my watch it was either 12:17 or 12:23… friends started packing up to leave.

Went to the splash pad with Maddox & Beckham. Played for a bit, I said it was time to go & Maddox said he lost one of his 3 cars. I took the other two cars, and said “look for the last one here at the splash pad. Stay here, I’m going to go pack up our stuff & I’ll come back to get you.”

Walked back to the covered picnic table area to pack up beach toys & cooler (with Beckham in my arms). Glanced back to look for Maddox at the splash pad, couldn’t see his bright green swim shorts, so I started walking with Beckham across the sand to the splash pad. Got closer to see if Maddox was hiding behind a squirter/in line at the splash pad slide. He wasn’t there, so I looked back toward the covered picnic tables & then scanned the pool water in between. There he was floating on his back, face up in the water, body like a starfish & head completely submerged underwater. I hurried as fast as I could to get to Maddox (with Beckham still in arms), picked Maddox up & he was unconscious/purple & white in the face. I yelled to the lifeguard, he came down to meet me. He said, “Do you give me permission to smack him on the back 5 times?” I said “yes!” I stepped aside to take a moment: screaming & thinking he may have just died, and praying all at once!
^ Happened around 12:30pm

Was quickly comforted by an angel - an older woman in a swimsuit (bystander) who said she was a nurse & here to help Maddox! Said something about prayer or made it known that she was a believer in The Lord.

Looking forward to being their biggest fan and cheering them on as they continue to lead students to follow Jesus and make disciples who make disciples :)
