During the art week, we’re delighted to welcome you to the Open Studio of Drama Dehor, fellows of the 10th edition of the Cripta747 Residency Programme.

Come explore their research, a liminal space where their collective practice comes alive through archiving discarded objects, shimmering noises, and puppet-related experiments.

Open Studio becomes a special chance to see the processes, materials, and stories they’ve been developing during these months of residency.

We are proud to present Caterina Avataneo (b. 1989, Turin) as our Curator in Residence for the Agder Residency 2026/27. Caterina is an independent curator and writer whose practice centres on long-term dialogue with artists, research and exchange. Since 2017, she has worked internationally with institutions including Serpentine Galleries, Cripta747, Artissima, and as a writer for CURA. She was also assistant curator of the Lithuanian Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale, which received the Golden Lion in 2019. Her research explores darkness, Gothic and eco-Gothic sensibilities, with a particular interest in nature, landscape, non-human agency and transformation.
During her residency, Caterina will get to know the artistic and cultural landscape of Agder through studio visits, conversations, field trips and encounters with artists and institutions. We look forward to introducing her to the region and to seeing what new conversations, connections and ideas emerge from her time here. The residency will culminate in an exhibition curated by Caterina together with GRAC, opening in February 2027. Welcome to Agder, Caterina!<3

“What remains after moving through the show is a sense of subjectivity distributed across things, absorbed into all those velvety surfaces that both seduce and swallow up. The result is corrosive, funny and slightly melancholic. The urge to possess Wood’s work—at least the way I experience it—seems to arise precisely from this uncontrollable erotic force that binds like a curse”, writes Avataneo.

Drama Dehor, collettivo di base a Torino, ha un debole per il weird e le note malinconiche della pantomima. Fondato nel 2025 da Nicoletta Busto, Giulia Fossati, Jowisz80C, Moyra Shaw e Alan Stefanato, il collettivo guarda alla tradizione del teatro di figura, unendo commedia dell’arte con eccesso barocco e realismo noir. Mescolando arti visive, performance, musica dal vivo, animazione e artigianato senza particolari gerarchie, crea opere che sfuggono organicamente alle categorie disciplinari e trovano una propria grammatica visiva in atmosfere tra il cupo e la meraviglia.

Nella loro pratica trasversale emerge il teatro di figura come interesse primario e, più nello specifico, la marionetta come forma espressiva, utilizzata per contaminare l’umano stesso, trasformandolo in un involucro animato da forze, gesti, intenzioni e coincidenze che eccedono l’io individuale.

Caterina Avataneo racconta l’immaginario di Drama Dehor tra atmosfere tragicomiche e romantiche, e linguaggio magico degli oggetti ritrovati.

We are happy to announce that Drama Dehor are the fellows of the 10th edition of the Cripta747 Residency Programme.

For 2026, we have chosen to support a collective artistic practice, reaffirming our interest in research forms grounded in dialogue, experimentation, and the intersection of different artistic languages.

Drama Dehor is a friend collective based in Turin, whose work revolves around the archival and resampling of scattered objects, shimmering noises and crumpled words. Their official collaboration began in 2025 with the stop motion animation “don’t stress me, i’m not the sun”. In 2026 they started experimenting with puppetry, giving life to their first show “È il primo di una lunga serie di scherzi del destino”. Their last work “Cappello uccello senza di lui” was presented last June at Cripta747, as part of the event Ultimo Emo.

From September to December 2026, Drama Dehor will be in residence at Cripta747 to develop a new project. In the coming months, we will share updates on their process, moments of public engagement, and events dedicated to the presentation of their research.

Nella pratica di Cecilia Vicuña una mostra e le sue opere vivono nel susseguirsi di momenti condivisi prima, durante e oltre il tempo espositivo. Prima che “El glaciar ido” prendesse forma nella Manica Lunga del Castello di Rivoli vi è stata una richiesta alla montagna, ai piedi del Monte Bianco. Il gesto—generosamente raccontato da Marcella Beccaria, curatrice della mostra—si inserisce in una costellazione di atti effimeri e difficilmente registrabili, quali rituali, canti, passeggiate e raccolte di materiali; alcuni partecipati, altri più intimi. Sono azioni che impregnano e permeano la mostra al Castello di Rivoli e la pratica dell’artista in generale, da sempre sensibile alle relazioni.
