The other week I had the privilege of attending what I can only describe as a ‘dream moment’ - the re-release premiere of the original Hammer Films ‘Dracula’ (1958). The film has been through a painstaking restoration process that left no stone unturned, lovingly bringing it to life in all its glory. The man we have to thank? Mr John Gore, the owner and guardian of all things Hammer🩸🦇 There was no expense or detailed spared on the night and it felt like a real celebration of an important film that so many of us love and cherish. It felt surreal and amazing, especially since I’ve recently contributed my first film to Hammer in the form of the documentary ‘The Land Demands Blood’ (currently touring film festivals and available in physical release on the ‘House of Hammer - Vol.1’ Blu-Ray). It was a night of good times and strange serendipitous meetings… more on that another time though 🔮✨ Here are a few moments from the evening. Shout out to my friends @_joseph_archer_ and @cathywippell for coming along as my 2nd and 3rd wheels haha. Dessert, movies and funny stuff around the shops. What a great few days it has been. Finally hoping to watch Supergirl this weekend after missing it at the cinema. A thank you to my friend @shels_recommends for inspiring me to check it out as well as for all her support over the last few years. Please follow Shelsey's account as well as @shelsey.98 for her amazing cosplays. Just want to also give a shoutout to director Becca Hirani, whose latest film "Wuthering Heights: The House of the Damned", has just been released in the UK 🇬🇧 and Ireland 🇮🇪. Starring Sky Cheema and Elle O'Hara among a talented cast, it brings a horror twist to Emily Brontë's classic novel. I've tagged some of the cast here but also included the crew on slides 5 to 7 (courtesy of IMDB). The film is available to buy or rent through Prime Video and Youtube movies. 🇬🇷 INTERNATIONAL PREMIERE ANNOUNCEMENT 🇬🇷 Snapshot is going to Greece! 🎬 @filmfestivalgr We are delighted to announce that @snapshot_1888 will have its international premiere in the Film Forward Competition at the 67th Thessaloniki International Film Festival. Thank you to the wonderful jury for including us in the Film Forward competition section, which hosts 10 “boundary-breaking” films which are competing for the Golden Alexander - Best Feature Film Award, accompanied by a 10,000 euro cash prize. 🏆 Snapshot is also competing for the Silver Alexander – Best Direction Award, accompanied by a 5,000 euro cash prize, and the best actor and actress awards. The jury may also award a best screenplay award or a best artistic achievement award. The Thessaloniki Film Festival, held annually in November since 1960, stands out as one of the most historic film festivals worldwide, as well as the most popular and talked-of cinema event of the year in Greece.
