Meet Simon 👋🏺

Simon first tried pottery on a four-day taster course 2.5 years ago, before becoming a member at our studio. Fast-forward to today, and he has his own studio, making small-batch functional ceramics, with a particular love for marbled porcelain.

Now he’s bringing his experience to Bella Jones, kicking off our Wednesday wheel-throwing course and helping others discover what they can create with a lump of clay.

His favourite part of teaching? That moment when it finally clicks. When the clay starts to move, your hands find their rhythm and you realise, I’ve actually made that.

You don’t need to be naturally artistic or have any experience to get started. Sometimes all it takes is giving something new a go.

Meet @ceramicsbysimon 👋

Simon’s work is focused on the simple moments of everyday life, whether it’s making that first coffee of the morning, enjoying an afternoon treat between meetings, or a catchup with friends over a cup of tea, he wants the ceramics he makes to celebrate and enhance those moments.

Simon will be bringing his coffee-inspired ceramics to our free House of Coffee Makers event on Saturday 31st October and Sunday 1st November, 10am - 5pm.

Cup appreciation post! ☕️

I’ve admired @ceramicsbysimon cups from a far for a while now and I was super fortunate to be able to pick some up during a ceramics fair in my home town!
There’s something really special about drinking good coffee from a hand made cup, especially when you know it’s been made by someone who also appreciates speciality coffee in the same way.
This isn’t a paid ad, I paid good money for all 3 of these cups and I’d happily buy more!

It's Friday and I'm rolling in with this Oat Milk Flat White

Cup is the absolutely beautiful hand made piece from @ceramicsbysimon blown away by this one... I've also got the pink and white that I'll get up over the weekend. But wow 😍 true beauty and craftsmanship.

Loved these ever since I saw @shoddycoffee using the blue and white 🩵

20 pots, no props.. not even a tablecloth. But his studio community came to the rescue with pricing stickers, friendly support, and even plants to help dress his table.

Six months later he tried again. For the first hour, he didn’t sell anything. But then the customers came and for the first time… real people were buying his work!
