@drinkatnola is a coffee shop that I will always happily come back to, even if I have to make the trek from Hertfordshire to Peckham. Definitely one of my South London favourites - I even have the cap (or two) to show it!

A new week is underway and that’s also a good time to crack open a fresh bag of coffee beans. This week I’ve got a lovely creamy Ethiopian coffee from @casa.coffeeroasters in Bradford, West Yorkshire who’s roastery just happens to be a stones throw away from where I grew up

West London is always a bit of a gap in my London coffee shop visits, so I took the opportunity of being in Battersea for the weekend as my alter ego @ceramicsbysimon to take a 20 minute detour to check out @riffscoffee. In what was a flying visit I had two lovely coffees from @scenerycoffeeroasters and @intermission.coffee and left happy and impressed! Great coffees, clearly popular in the local community, a place I need to revisit soon when I have a little more time

A long overdue visit to the lovely @titascoffeeuk and their fantastic pop-up in the @tomdixonstudio store at Coal Drops Yard. The pop-up runs for the rest of August and will now be open Tuesday - Sunday each week, so no excuse to not go and check it out.

At the moment nothing brings me more satisfaction than these marbled porcelain coffee cups that I’ve been making. From staining the clay myself, to throwing the cups, glazing them, pulling them out of the kiln, to making my first coffee in them, every step has been fun. Of course there’s been fails along the way, but that’s part of the process!

Given my obsession, I’ve got quite a number of these ready for my upcoming markets, starting with @curatedmakers at @batterseapwrstn 15th / 16th August. So if you want a super fun and colourful coffee cup (or bowl, mini vase or candle) do come and find me at Battersea.

If you can’t make it to Battersea I’ve also just launched a pre-order option on my website, so you can choose your colourway and get your own cup in 4-6 weeks time!!

Finally made it back to Blackpool to visit @lastlight.coffee! I’ve been coming to Blackpool and this exact street for over 40 years given my family connections to the market across the road, and I’m so happy that there’s great coffee to be had when I’m back on the Fylde coast.

Last Light is going to offer you some amazing coffees with menu covering everything from Manchester based @siop.tec, London based @scenerycoffeeroasters and Swindon based @ddoosseedd (I think my first coffee from this roastery). Plus some genuinely excellent baking, in my case in the form of a chewy chocolate chunk cookie packed with fruity dark chocolate from @darkroomcraftchocolate, perfect pairing for a flat white!
