A "Dance for Her" @bodyexpressivevisuals

Still working on this - I feel it's such a big song with such an important, emotive message that I need to dance it outside somewhere....

I need to feel FREE dancing it. Even my garage feels too restrictive... but maybe that's the whole point... 🤷 I was definitely feeling the oppression described in the song and the subsequent desire to be free from it. As is the nature of " Expressive Chair Dance," you don't just dance to the music. You feel it, express it, live it, with every fibre of your being.

Anyway, until I find an outdoor spot where I have the space to stride off at the end, here's the indoor version.

Yesterday's rehearsal for DANCE FOR HER project (Part of the Alpha Act). New participants joined us this time and we hope to meet more of you in the future. ☄️

DANCE FOR HER is a visual project that is both performance, statement, expression and lived experience of a collective release of rage.

We plan to do a several visuals this and next year and all women are welcome to join us. The attendance is flexible and inclusive (lots of training days to chose from, Zoom recordings and Tutorials are available.)

We are also happy to announce that our sisters house in Madrid @recreo__express is joining the project simultaneously ☄️

Really enjoyed dancing this, can you tell? 😅

So cathartic... sensual, fiesty, fierce, powerful, all the things... ❤️‍🔥👊🙌

Such a haunting song and beautiful Choreography by my instructor @k_e_morton @chair_dance_express.

A piece from their "Blue frequency" - part of their Alpha @bodyexpressivevisuals show. I didn't take part in this section of the show, but I wanted to learn it as it's so beautiful ✨️

I intentionally used a slightly blurry filter as I think it adds to the dreamy feel of the piece. 🤔 What do you think?

I’m honestly so excited to start our chair dance classes 😍

This will be our first routine next week and we will practice the same one 2 weeks in a row 🤗
It will be to a different song though as it’s not on Spotify

I just want to reiterate that you do not need dance experience to come along, I’m here to teach you from the very beginning of your dance journey and hopefully get you to the point you’re ready to try other amazing teachers classes 🥹

Dance has been such a support in my life and I know I wouldnt feel as good as I do today if I didn’t start that dance class 4 years ago, I felt like a fish out of water and felt like I was making an absolute fool of myself but the amazing teachers and other dancers in the room made me feel so at ease, they kept pushing me on and here we are, I’m ready help you do the same if you want to give it a go 🤗👯‍♀️

It’s not easy! But it’s such a rewarding way to move if you have the consistency and patience 🩷

See you Wednesday 7pm at Glow 👯‍♀️🌙
