Little Place has been out for two weeks now. I found my stash of instants I took from the sessions. Pretty cute. Musicians are cute. Take a listen to the tunes for the first time or again and think of these cuties while you do.

@chris.dadge: co-producer & engineer, drums, percussion, bass, synth, and too many other things to mention / bored and quiet creator-er
@natetootshisownhorn: guitar, bass, sax, flute / smiles for miles-er
@brock__geiger: bass, guitar, synth/paint thrower-er
@jjmayo_: pedal steel/dream weaver-er
@mennett.bitchell: BG vox/positive viber-er

I managed to take one photo this weekend and it was just moments before I ate the spiciest soup of my life that my eye balls were sweating and tongue was so numb still water tasted like carbonated water. Big thanks to my dudes @natetootshisownhorn, @brock__geiger and @chris.dadge for suggesting psychedelic eating experiences and ripping the new tunes with me.

We got another one coming in Lethbridge on October 10th w/ @baileykate03 at @owlacousticlounge!

The party starts TODAY! Kicking things off at @palominosmokehouse tonight w/ @cassia.hardy & @avaiswild. Zipping up to Edmonton bright and early to play @friendsofcjsr library for a little on air performance, then ripping over to @aviary.edmonton for another stacked bill with @cassia.hardy & @pike780! Next weekend you can find me in Lethbridge @owlacousticlounge w/ my favourite prairie gal @baileykate03. I’ll have my limited run of vinyl in tow and some very special bandanas made with love.

You can find tickets on my website at samanthasavagesmith.ca (link in bio) See you in the pit.

Little Place is out today! You can stream it, buy it, download it, order a record. Your call.

Big thanks to everyone involved to make this thing a listenable reality. I will admit, there have been quite a few obstacles in my life this last couple of years, and if it wasn’t for the help of good people in my world this thing might of been sitting on the shelf for much longer. I’m incredibly grateful to have these folks in my corner.
I do hope you’ll take the time to have a listen. It’s truly so special to me, and it took a village to have it be here for your ears to take it in.

“Villanova” is out today, the second single from our upcoming new album.

Making new music has definitely gotten harder over time. I’m not really sure why, just doesn’t flow as easily as it used to. But writing “Villanova” was an exception, it came together quick and is the sole song off the new record that didn’t frustrate me to pieces while making it. There’s a decent melody in there, and some time signature weirdness at the end. And a first for us, we asked a guest vocalist to contribute to the song.

Thanks/Credits:
Backing vocals: @julietitle (We met Julie when we played in Toronto a few yrs ago. Fantastic voice. We sent her the track and she graciously arranged and recorded all the backing vocals. Still my favourite part on the whole thing, thx again Julie)

Guitar: @jmsrsstr (All the way from London, thx James)

Mixing/additional production: @chris.dadge @childstonestudios (Cheers again Chris for painstakingly putting it all together)

Mastering: Brock McFarlane @cpsmastering (Thanks Brock)

Video: @shutterreleaseproductions (Oliver took one quick evening shoot and somehow made two pretty awesome videos from it, amazing)

Thanks to you all for listening, reading and watching, always appreciate the support. Full video on Youtube and stream anywhere. Cheers -Mike
