May is pelvic pain awareness month and we take that to heart around here. Pelvic pain is a pain like no other. It can consume your whole day, every thought, and derail your life.

So no matter what system you have a concern with - bladder and bowel, sexual function, or muscular - we’re here to support you. It’s never too late; age is just a number. Pelvic health is for all genders, which is why we don’t call this “women’s health.”

Pain should never be the norm and we’re here to help you get your life back!

At Ethos, we’re here to listen. We always want to hear your full version of the story and to form the relationship with you that is missing in most healthcare settings.

We’re here to teach. Our years of expertise are why you trust us, and we love sharing knowledge that can help you heal.

We’re here to help you get back to the life you love! Whether that’s playing on the ground pain free with your kids, running a marathon or aging well and and healthy!

When foam rolling or receiving soft tissue work like massage, you don’t want your muscles to react. A reaction is involuntary, and often they aren’t reflective of what we really want to be doing.

You want them to respond! A response is a choice, it’s thought through, it’s not an automatic default pattern. This helps to retrain the muscles out of a state of tension.

So the next time that you’re rolling out or getting worked on, see if you’re grinning and bearing it or working to relax and receive. The mind influences the muscles!

If you’ve been to traditional PT, you’ve probably experienced the first half of this video. A cold introduction from someone who makes you feel sorry that you even showed up. A therapist who’s only kind of paying attention, whether they’re on their phone or juggling 3 other patients. An experience that doesn’t end in success, but going back to your doctor because you “failed” PT.

We’re the antidote to “traditional.” We’re the clinic we want to go to. You’ll always have friendly interactions here. Your therapist works with you one on one and is laser focused. You get to celebrate your wins together and experience lasting success.

There’s a better option than settling for the status quo. Come see what we’re about at Ethos

Today we want to show off one of our therapists, Dr. Christine Abrams! She received this lovely testimonial from a client.

This client was helped by Christine during pregnancy, postpartum and beyond. Christine helped her feel comfortable and heard. She continues to recommend her to others based on her own positive outcome!

If you’ve had your own success story with us, we’d love to hear about it! Let us know in the comments, shoot us a DM, or better yet - write us a Google review so other people can find us and get a win too

Thank you for the kind words and it’s always our pleasure to serve you!

We love seeing how people think things are going to be in each of our specialities. The expectation is that pelvic PT is all calm stretches and relaxation, whereas performance PT is getting your butt kicked in treatment and with work outs. Neither of these stereotypes are necessarily accurate, although both have kernels of truth.

We’re proud of our clinic and think it has the perfect balance of yin and yang. Don’t be surprised if your pelvic PT talks about your nervous system, but also wants to see how you move in the gym. Your performance PT will probably work through a knot that you have, but will also help you understand the why behind it down to the physiological details.

Get a team who can do both!

Here’s a sneak peak into our most recent team meeting!

We had lots of great points on the docket:

Reviewing our best quarter yet - that means we’ve been able to help so many of you!

Planning which continuing education courses we want to take next. We constantly want to grow and learn, staying up to date with the latest research and never becoming stagnant or set in our ways.

Collaborating on cases and treatment plans. We know that 4 brains are better than 1 and our collaborative experience can help the whole team improve. We each have our own specialties and skills which is why we’re big believers in rising tides lifting all ships!

Upgrading equipment and deciding where to grow next. We have some exciting improvements coming to our gear and office soon, but you’re going to have to wait to hear more about that one.

Just know that we’re always looking ahead and trying to find the best way to serve you!

Pelvic PT is a service provided at Ethos that we’re very proud of! Most folks don’t realize that these issues are related to muscles of the pelvic floor, the core and nervous system as one connected unit. Who better to treat them than an expert in musculoskeletal health!

Pelvic therapy helps with issues related to:

•urinary and bowel dysfunction - leaking, frequency, urgency, constipation, GI issues, hemorrhoids

•sexual function - painful penetration, difficulty achieving orgasm, erectile dysfunction, testicular pain

•surgical issues - hysterecomy, c section, endometriosis excision, hernia etc

•functional wellness - back pain, SI joint dysfunction, core weakness, tailbone pain

•prenatal and postpartum care - pregnancy aches and pains, labor prep, return to activity, diastasis rehab

This is just the tip of the iceberg! If you have questions about pelvic PT and don’t know where to start, shoot us a message
