Yesterday’s partner WOD 🥵

A toughie but a goodie with one of my favourite people..

Working with a partner changes the dynamic — you work hard, recover when you can, and then get straight back into it.

Good intensity, plenty of work done and definitely felt it by the end. Thank you @ff__sam_ for the camera work too 🫶🏻

Training done.

Then the usual 2K on compromised legs 😅

Not fast. Not pretty. But we’re smiling because we know we’re nearly bloody finished.

That’s my life. 😂

Building towards Tryka, one tired-leg run at a time.

And it’s FriYay…. 🙌🏻💚

So ridiculously proud of this boy tonight. ❤️

Just before we hit the 2K mark, he hit the ground — hard.

There were tears, it hurt, and he had every reason to say he’d had enough.

But he didn’t.

He got back up, dusted himself off and said he wanted to keep going. He wanted to finish.

And finish he did. 🥹❤️

Not every kid would choose to carry on after a fall like that, and I don’t think he even realises how proud that made me.

Tonight wasn’t about the time or the 5K.

It was about getting back up when something knocks you down and finishing what you started.

Couldn’t be prouder of you, Louis. ❤️

And another brilliant Dromiskin 5K — always such an incredible community event. 🏃‍♂️❤️

A little R&R… because recovery is part of the work too. 🌱

Last night, the girls and I swapped the gym for a little TLC at the Rejuvenation Station in Knockbridge — and we absolutely loved it.

It was lovely to spend the evening together, slowing down, switching off and having a good laugh.

When you train hard, it’s easy to focus on the sessions, the reps and the progress. But giving your body time to recover and recharge matters too.

The setting is beautifully quiet and tucked away from everything — the perfect place to relax and give the body a little of the TLC it deserves.

Such a lovely experience and somewhere I’d definitely recommend. 🤍🌱

Train hard. Recover well. Age strong.

A few years ago, I probably wouldn’t have imagined this being such a normal part of my life at 49. 🥊

Training. Getting stronger. Challenging myself. Still learning — and having a lot of fun along the way.

Last night’s pad session was a cracker. A brilliant coach, great chemistry and plenty of laughs… while she absolutely put me through my paces. 😂

But this is also a big part of why I coach the way I do.

I know what it’s like to start from somewhere.

You don’t have to already be fit.
You don’t have to know what you’re doing.
And you definitely don’t have to be 20.

You start where you are, with what you can do now — and you build from there.

That’s what I want women my age to see when they come to my page.

It’s never too late to get stronger, fitter and more confident in what your body can do. 🌱

Progressive Overload: It’s Not Just More Weight 💪🌱

When we hear progressive overload, we often think it means lifting heavier and heavier.

But progress can also mean more reps, better control, greater range of movement, a slower tempo or moving on to a more challenging variation.

The aim isn’t to rush to the heaviest weight — it’s to keep giving your body a reason to adapt.

Build strength. Build confidence. Progress at your pace. 🌱💚

Strength & Conditioning Saturday 💪

A solid start to the weekend with my Tryka partner this morning @o39reillygrace 💚💪🏻

Running, push-ups and plenty more thrown into the mix — all working towards our Tryka event in October.

Good session, good company and another one in the bag. 🌱

S&C DONE. 2K TO FINISH. 💪🚶‍♀️

A tough strength & conditioning session followed by a 2K walk along the canal with these two.

No pace. No pressure. Just moving the legs, plenty of chatting and even more laughing 😂

Some days the 2K is the workout.
Some days it’s the cool-down.

Either way… it counts. ✅

Day 8 of our 2K a Day for August 💚
