🎵Did you know? Bach's birthday celebration on 31 March isn't just a random date! 📆Originally recorded as 21 March 1685 in Julian calendar, it was converted to 31 March in our modern Gregorian calendar. This 10-day shift tells a fascinating story of how Europe transitioned between calendar systems, mixing science, religion, and politics. Let's start preparing Bach’s birthday cake today and celebrate his 340th birthday on 31 March in the concert—a testament to how even time itself has a history🎂! 📷Get your ticket now for this musical journey by Chi-Ho! Franck not only dedicated this sonata to the Belgium violin virtuoso Eugène Ysaÿe but also despatched a student to deliver the freshly finished score to Ysaÿe’s wedding in a Belgium town. The bridegroom’s performance was the sonata’s first unofficial performance. Ysaÿe subsequently played the sonata in Brussels and Paris and the work achieved legendary status in no time. 〖 @classicalpixel x Aura Music 〗 高斯亞可夫與三浦謙司大提琴及鋼琴演奏會（香港首演） 2024年6月24〔一〕晚上7:30 香港大會堂音樂廳 Duo Recital by Pavel Gomziakov & Kenji Miura (Hong Kong debut) 24 June 2024 (Mon) 7:30 pm Concert Hall, Hong Kong City Hall #auramusicasia #rethinkeducation #lifelonglearning #HKdebut #PavelGomziakov #KenjiMiura #Cello #Piano #DuoRecital #HongKongCityHallConcertHall #pixelclassical #franck #cellosonata #pixelanimation

French cellist Louis Rosoor claimed in programme notes that Debussy related the music of this Cello Sonata to the character Pierrot of the commedia dell’arte, and wanted to give the sonata a subtitle “Pierrot Angry at the Moon”: “Pierrot wakes up with a start and shakes off his stupor. He rushes off to sing a serenade to his beloved [the moon] who, despite his supplications, remains unmoved. To comfort himself in his failure he sings a song of liberty.” Debussy confirmed in a letter to his publisher Jacques Durand dated 16 October 1916 that the cellist had visited him the previous night, and seemed to have misunderstood him and the music. Despite this, the story continues to appear in program notes, as seen here now. 〖 @classicalpixel x Aura Music 〗 高斯亞可夫與三浦謙司大提琴及鋼琴演奏會（香港首演） 2024年6月24〔一〕晚上7:30 香港大會堂音樂廳 Duo Recital by Pavel Gomziakov & Kenji Miura (Hong Kong debut) 24 June 2024 (Mon) 7:30 pm Concert Hall, Hong Kong City Hall #auramusicasia #rethinkeducation #lifelonglearning #HKdebut #PavelGomziakov #KenjiMiura #Cello #Piano #DuoRecital #HongKongCityHallConcertHall #pixelclassical #debussy #cellosonata #pixelanimation

In 1823 Schubert’s friend Johann Georg Stauffer invented Arpeggione. The instrument was conceived to be a “cello-guitar”. Like the guitar it is fretted, has six strings and tuned exactly like the guitar, in fourths. (The cello has four strings, tuned in fifths, and unfretted.) Yet the arpeggione can be bowed, it has f-holes and a bridge like the cello. The player is to hold the arpeggione with his or her calves. Stauffer commissioned Schubert to write a piece for this new instrument. In the Duo Recital in June, cellist Pavel Gomziakov and pianist Kenji Miura will perform the cello version of this work. After a decade from its invention, arpeggione was largely out of vogue, and after almost half a century, the composition was finally published in 1871, together with a violin and a cello version.  〖 @classicalpixel x Aura Music 〗 高斯亞可夫與三浦謙司大提琴及鋼琴演奏會（香港首演） 2024年6月24〔一〕晚上7:30 香港大會堂音樂廳 門票現已於城市電腦售票網發售 節目及購票詳情：https://bit.ly/4bRcd2m Duo Recital by Pavel Gomziakov & Kenji Miura (Hong Kong debut) 24 June 2024 (Mon) 7:30 pm Concert Hall, Hong Kong City Hall Tickets are now available for purchase at URBTIX & arte-mate Programme Details & Ticket Purchases: https:// bit.ly/4bRcd2m #auramusicasia #rethinkeducation #HKdebut #PavelGomziakov #KenjiMiura #Cello #Piano #DuoRecital #HongKongCityHallConcertHall #pixelclassical #schubert #arpeggione #pixelanimation
