We are still accessible from Malvern despite a 5 week road closure at Leigh Sinton from 20 Jul - 21 Aug

Swipe across for an easy alternative route that takes only 3 minutes longer than usual 💚

This closure comes during our busiest time of year and as seasonal business could hit us hard; please keep supporting and visiting our lovely cafe and veg shed, classes and events 🫶🏻

Please share! 💚

Meet another of our wonderful makers here in Studio 4! The lovely Janice Fellows @janicefellowsceramics
Janice has exhibited and sold work with us for over 5 years now. Her pieces are timeless, capturing texture and sculpture beautifully. Janice’s delicate handmade porcelain pieces are made from both her home studio and her time in @clayatthefold . We’ve recently had another stock drop of new work including some chunkier pieces too- we are very fond of these!
Pop in and see Janice’s work alongside our own and other makers..
We are open 10-4 Tues - Sat
Monthly Sunday market days on 1st Sunday of the month 10-3

Thank you @tkjpots, clay@thefold, @robtowlerceramics and @kpennelegion for a fantastic four days. I learnt so much about wood firing processes and ceramics.

On top of which, our group were so lovely and so incredibly skilled. The results were brilliant. 🤩

I am buzzing from it all.

Having the best time at clay@thefold with @tkjpots showing us the processes behind his #fast fire wood kiln. We even got to use his beautiful wood ash glazes to glaze our work. The firing finished last night after just a day of firing. Amazing.
Can’t wait to see how it all looks on Sunday when we unpack the kiln.

In my happy place, surrounded by wonderful people, a woodfire kiln, Mother Nature, and pots.

Today it was sunny, cloudy, blustering winds, shower rain, rainbows over the river and finally a calm and clear dusk…simultaneously vulnerable and hardy, we continued on steadily, with well planned breakfast, lunch and tea time in between at @theclayfoldcafe_

Although we spent most of today glazing and packing, I really enjoy how communal woodfiring is - very much a collective effort where everyone plays a role.

The pots that are born out of wood fire, to an idealistic and romantic me, reflect what is collected from the liveliness, spirit and beauty of human connection.

A realm of possibility, of a leap of faith… an energy that breathes and builds with the flames that will come to be.

Looking forward to the firing tomorrow with the reminder from Tom (@tkjpots) that “Woodfiring is gentle” to which I would like to add on, if one meets it with an honest and open heart, it will teach and nurture in more ways that one could ever imagine…

If you have been to one of my masterclasses before or haven’t been able to get a spot, this class @clayatthefold is going to be all about throwing improvement and problem solving. I have only ever been able to touch on certain things during previous courses because they were focused on lids or alterations to pots, this class will be all about helping the participants with any struggles they might be having on the wheel as well as some more advanced throwing techniques. #masterclass #teaching #ceramics #potterswheel #throwingclay #clayatthefold

Lucky to have an open studio where I share my workspace with my very very good friend and studio buddy @fi.tilbury.jewellery 🫶 We both took part in @herefordshireartweek in September as part of our collective of artist & maker studios here at @thefoldbransford .
H. Art Week showcases a variety of artists & creatives across a wide range of disciplines, promoting work and creating a trail throughout the county and surrounding areas beyond. Artists can open their home studios or hire a community space for the week to invite you in, sharing behind the scenes insights and talking face to face with visitors. This coming weekend again we are also part of the H.Art Christmas Open Studios Trail… but as I said, we are very lucky to share an open working studio space 🙌 that you can visit all year round, throughout the week. Come and see us for H.Art:
Sat 7th Dec 10-4
Sun 7th Dec 10-3
.
And also our regular opening times of:
Tues - Fri 10-4
Most Saturdays 10-4 (hours vary).
Monthly market day - 1st Sunday of the month 10-3.
.
Thanks folks! Check out the Herefordshire Arts Week website for all artists taking part. 🌿
