We waited a year to go on our honeymoon and it was certainly worth it! Couldn’t ask for a better way to celebrate than a hut to hut through the Julian Alps in Slovenia with @marymcneillknowles.

We’re excited to officially launch the Oak Bay Bikes Ambassador Program and welcome our first ambassador, Clay Webb.

Born and raised on Vancouver Island, Clay has always had a deep connection to the outdoors. After spending most of his childhood outside, it’s no surprise he’s gone on to spend the last two decades as an outdoor educator and guide, helping others discover the same passion for adventure and nature.

When he’s not out building community through local rides and events, you’ll usually find him chasing endurance challenges. From Everesting Observatory Hill to riding 500 continuous kilometres at UVic, Clay has quietly earned legendary status in the local cycling scene.

More than anything though, Clay represents what we love most about riding here - community, passion, adventure, and inspiring others to get outside on two wheels.

We’re proud to have him as an Oak Bay Bikes Ambassador.

Interested in joining the ride? We’re looking for passionate local riders, creators, and community builders to become part of the OBB Ambassador Program.

Find out more through the link in bio.

Train your weakness! As someone who came relatively late into the world of athletics I always relied on a strong diesel engine and focused on long endurance efforts. Less than a couple years ago I would have laughed at you if you said I’d be running a sub 18min 5km. I never really trained and just ran or rode more, until a couple years ago when @marymcneillknowles nudged me to jump into the @peakkendurance workouts, my first foray into structured training. Fast forward to today and I’m further tuning the engine with the fast and friendly crew @speedfarmracing setting a 17:09 5km PR @islandraceseries Bazan Bay 5km. One more road effort coming up @tc10k then it’s back to the trails and the legendary @hillbillyhustle50 to see if I can use the leg speed to shave a little time off last year!
