Meet Coach Daniel 🫱🏻‍🫲🏽, our passionate Strength & Conditioning expert whose journey began with soccer in Mexico before expanding to strength and conditioning after moving to Canada. His love for training inspired him to pursue kinesiology, leading to an internship at the Canadian Sport Institute (CSI), where he honed his expertise in athlete development. Today, Daniel primarily works with freestyle skiers and para-athletes, focusing on building strength, power, and resilience. His coaching philosophy is simple: create a positive and enjoyable environment where athletes thrive both mentally and physically. 🌱 “I see them as humans first and athletes second,” Daniel explains. “The goal is to make them stronger, healthier, and better equipped to perform at their best for the long run.” Freestyle Alberta is proud to have Daniel guiding athletes toward success with his dedication and expertise. 💪🏼 Read the full story, linked in our bio 🔝

Ayden Fraser is getting ready for more of this❗️❗️ After a complete ACL tear last season, the now 19-year-old underwent surgery and has been working hard all year to get back on the sticks.🎿 As many know, “injuries are as much a mental game as they are physical”. Ayden is focused on her own journey and making sure she returns to sport the right way. Immediately after her injury, she was out volunteering at competitions supporting the younger girls on her team. Since then, she’s continued to stay involved in the community by coaching with the @calgaryfreeriderz all summer - What a great role model, hey? Now a third-year Alberta Team skier, she’ll be starting her return-to-snow protocol on Wednesday! 💪🏼 Go, Ayden! You can do it! 👏🏼 Let’s keep cheering her on as she aims to get back to competing later this season. #freestyle #fis #freestylealberta #freestyleskiing #kneehab #acl #aclrecovery #slopestyle #parkskiing #ski #injury

Freestyle Alberta 🇨🇦 Skiers ⛷️ in the Lab 🔥🥼 Our Provincial Team’s are already going hard this off season 💪🏼. Thanks to @csialberta & Freestyle Alberta’s Strength & Conditioning Coach - Dan Gutierrez. @coach_dan13 Why do freestyle skiers do baseline testing? To manage injury, track progress, & address deficiencies 🛠️‼️ Baseline testing as well as consistent gym work in the off season & throughout the entire year is VITAL 🫀 for high performing athletes. The gym helps with key components such as performance improvement, confidence & injury prevention. The Alberta Mogul Team showcased above, is starting the new season strong. They’ll be travelling to Australia in August for their first Competition of the Season 📈 Stay tuned for more updates as we head into Airbag, Trampoline, Water Ramp & Dryland Season. Now’s the time to dial in the basics 📝 📸: @nathan.yuki
