10 days late but I have an excuse!

Every year I issue my future self a challenge, that being "next year, you had better be better", and every year I feel as though I am 10x the person I was the year before.

I spent my 22nd birthday traveling by myself to a city I had never been too, to fight another grown man in front of a crowd (bta). While I *prefer*.to spend my birthdays celebrating with my family and friends, this felt like the perfect encapsulation of this year. I spent this year chasing my dream harder than ever before, fighting in 3 different countries, twice overseas, and going 6 and 1 in this twelve month stretch. I picked up 3 titles, fought the #1 in my weight in the world, and progressed further as an athlete than I ever have. I look forward to seeing where the next 12 months takes me as a fighter, as a coach, and as a teammate. Traveling the world with @vanbuskirknate to kick ass and take names is one of the highlights of my life, and getting to do it while repping @spartanacademy_ is an honor.

On a personal note, I got to celebrate my one year anniversary with my beautiful girlfriend @gianna.inserillo . Thank you for keeping me sane during fight camp, and dealing with me on weight cut weeks. I love you, and I'm so excited to see what we can do this year.

I got to travel more than ever before this year, mostly for fights, but there is nothing better than getting to explore a new country, state, or city. I visited Chicago twice, went to visit some homies in West Palm Beach, made it to Maryland, and also Japan and the Dominican Republic. Where will this year take me?

I have so many pictures of my friends and family, and I spend more time than I should scrolling through them. To everyone that has been a part of my life this year, thank you. Whether we met at a weigh in, or you conceived me, you all shape me into the person I am, and am becoming. I love you all more than you could possibly now.

So to me in 350 something days, I issue the same challenge you were given the same amount of time, by us of the past: come next year, you better be better.
