I was honored to be invited to participate in a World conference to talk about "The Culture and History of Coffee" (more than 200 attendees) celebrating National Hispanic Heritage Month organized by Digital Voces (Digital Realty).

As part of the Conference, @just_the_roaster and I roasted more than 300 samples of 3 origins: Colombia, Brazil and El Salvador and sent them to more than 15 countries.

It was really great to see so many faces together via zoom, sung Ojalá que llueva café from Juan Luis Guerra, and read their comments on how coffee impacts their life. The talk was beautiful (not because I gave it, but because it was rich in history and evolution) and I felt really happy (once again) to work in this industry.

This was written by Nohemy Martinez, Software Development, Customer Success Management, Operations- Digital Realty:

"As we approach the end of National Hispanic Heritage Month I want to highlight all of the great things Digital Realty's Hispanic ERG - Digital Voces and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Council organized to commemorate this month.

In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Digital Voces and DEI made a donation to both RAICES (The Refugee and Immigrant Center for Education and Legal Services) and HITEC (Hispanic Information Technology Executive Council).

Digital Voces also hosted our first chapter meet-up at Topgolf near Digital Realty's Dallas headquarters featuring keynote speakers, Claudia Massey and Barbara Dorantes sharing their professional and personal experiences as Latinas in the tech industry. Voces also held a global virtual presentation led by María Esther Thome-López on coffee culture and history, treating attendees to Coffea School coffee. Apart from being fantastic educational, brainstorming, and networking opportunities, it was personally rewarding to finally meet some of my colleagues who I work with on an everyday-basis.

Special thanks to our sponsors/keynote speakers, Schneider Electric, and Coffea School for sharing their experiences and knowledge with our audience."

In this reel we demonstrate how to perform a smart calibration on your Acaia Scales with a 500gr calibration weight
.
Calibration will help to keep your scale measurements accurate and consistent. Here are the steps:

Please note that the calibration process ONLY works in the weighing only mode

- Power On your scale
- Switch to the weighing only mode
- Tap Tare Rapidly
- Place the calibration weight on the scale (can be 100 or 500)
- the scale will display "END" when the calibration is complete
- Voila, keep weighing 😉

-----

- Voila, sigue pesando 😉

So excited to announce that the @specialityteaeurope has now released the new module 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗲𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 to be delivered either on line or in the classroom
.
In the Specialty Coffee Industry we're excited to hear about the farm, the people who work to process the coffee, and then about the brewing process itself to discover an incredible array of flavours and aromas. So 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗱𝗼 𝘄𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗲𝗮 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀 𝗲𝘅𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗽𝘀? 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮 is a person who is equally passionate about tea brewing. This is a person who with the same enthusiasm will tell you about the farm where the tea comes from, the processing it goes through, and will choose from among many others the tea which has an incredibly high quality and unique flavour. And then will focus on brewing it properly
.
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗲𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮 will weigh the right amount of tea, prepare filtered water to a specific temperature and focus on brewing time. It is the Tea Barista who is responsible for making that cup of tea you will remember. Let's expand our horizons both as tea enthusiasts and as professionals. Tea Barista is a very forward-thinking concept. Just like the world of coffee, the world of tea is incredibly exciting and stimulating! And the right knowledge and skills give us even more opportunities and satisfaction to be part of this wonderful world
.
𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗧𝗲𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝘀𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 is a course for new tea businesses, Coffee Shops, Cafes, and Tea Houses
