Ever wonder what happens to plastic once it’s pulled from the ocean? 🌊♻️

Spent the day with @theoceancleanup in Oʻahu learning about their work and getting hands-on sorting and weighing ocean plastic. And WOW, the amount of fishing gear we came across was eye-opening.

Such a cool opportunity to see this work up close and a reminder of why both ocean cleanup and preventing plastic pollution at its source matter so much. 💙

Still thinking about my few days in Oʻahu 🌊🌺

A few weeks ago, I got to join an incredible group of young ocean leaders for the @oceanuprise Summit.

We learned from some amazing people across the ocean space, got hands-on sorting marine debris, spent time learning from Hawaiʻi and the people who call it home, and had so many conversations about conservation, community, and the future of our ocean.

I also got to screen The Last Fin during our film night 🎬💙 Sharing something so personal to me with a group of people equally passionate about our ocean was incredibly special.

But the best part was the people. I left Oʻahu with new friendships, new perspectives, and even more excitement for what’s ahead. 🌊

So grateful for this community. 🫶🏼

Big Mahalo to O’ahu, Hawai’i and it’s people for having received me with open hearts. My sensitive heart got very touched while spending these days with like minded people; Ocean advocates, storytellers, filmmakers, photographers, people with big hearts obsessed with the ocean but also dedicating their lives to create humans connections, to create community to protect what we love the most, what gives us life, our oceans 🩵

Feeling so grateful and emotional to have met this amazing group of souls that reminded my present and younger self, my purpose, my north star 🌟. Being surronded by this powerful energy, love, kind souls, the strong culture of Hawai’i, is something that I won’t ever forget 🌺.

Aloha All,

This past Saturday we had our 3rd Kaha Nalu Clinic over in Waimanalo and it was another awesome day. For me, the goal is always to share my knowledge and experience in bodysurfing while also recognizing the historical and cultural significance it has, and how it can be useful for anyone, especially to any keiki or newcomers.
