🌀Calais Beach, France! A World class skatepark! Not far from the ferry/Le Shuttle!
🌀Here, at suboptimalskater we have loved this skatepark for a good few years now and always factor it in on our Euro travels. Great to pop to when coming in or out of France if you are from the UK. Below are the ratings!
......🇫🇷Obstacles - 8. A massive bowl, great street section and a fun snake flow area. Also great for just rolling around checking out the French news.
.......🥖Vibe - 7 always friendly and plenty of space. Can get busy ofcourse, watch out for peoples hats falling off - Mon chapeau!
.......🥐Parking - 10. Park right next to it for free!
.......🇫🇷Bogs - 5. There is one here, but it was out of order. Didn't fancy going in to a cafe and asking, personally.
........🍟Quality - 7. Pretty new and well maintained, no damage to be seen
........🧄Flow - 8. Excellent in the bowl of course and lovely big space for merde skaters like suboptimalskater to think they are better than they are.
.........🍷cleanliness - 7. Hardly anything to pick up.
...........🇫🇷Innovation - 9. A well designed skatepark with loads of interesting bits.
.........🧄grub - 4. Lots of cafes about, but probably more expensive than Lidls. Probably best to take own supplies. No water fountain either. TOTAL 65%! Which is very good!

🌀Area 51 in Eindhoven. The largest indoor skatepark in the Benelux region!
🌀Park nearby on the street if you can, otherwise it's quite expensive in the local carparks. Of course try and get a train, or if you are local, it's not a problem.
🌀Thanks @thyme2skate for the action shots
🌀The whole achingly hip Strijp-S area is a former factory site for Philips, where the CD was invented - with Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits being the first million selling CD. Also the cassette was invented here and the Philishave system! Thanks so much @pepijndejonge for this information.
🌀The skatepark is great and parent friendly up to a point - they are not allowed in! Of course suboptimalskater was strutting his stuff which allowed Curload's finest short form video editor @cooperinho1 to get down to business.
🌀If you want to go feel free to DM for more info.
🌀Sessions about 8 Euro. Closed Monday. Times 15:00 -18:00 and 18:00-22:00
🌀Lots of scooterists.

Felt y’all deserved some vulnerability, and, the truth…

Not gonna write some huge thing here, as thats one of the main frictions between me posting without attachment, compared to me spending 5 hours prepping and photoshopping and writing for literally no reason!

So, here is where I am at, as well as BirdFlip, and I promise y’all I will see you soon. Big plans, slow execution hahaha.

Love y’all. Now get off the phone it’s killing us 😭♥️

🌀learning with Laura/suboptimalskate coach episode 3 - 'Pushing'.
🌀Laura from @blueliaskitchen fame is really making great progress!
🌀Taking to the streets of sunny Minehead she really 'pushed' herself to the limits and drew upon her skills from episodes 1 and 2, well maybe not the safety bit.
🌀Important to remember here, keep steady and re-establish stance after each push.
🌀Next episode 'stopping'. Handy.
🌀Thanks to @soleanimals for a little bit if filming and vibes.

🕺Aaayy! It’s the Fonz! Come to tell you the sad/good news that @cooperinho1 /@suboptimalskater will be away for the month of June.

🕺No need to worry though, as Coop has compiled a Fonzie’s Favourites (sic) mixtape, taken from the very album in this post. Also @thyme2skate has donated an image of the Fonz she did a few years ago.

🕺The Fonz has been a lifelong inspiration for Coop. Aged 7 he waltzed (or Jived?) into the barbers, with this very record, asking for his hair to be styled like the great man himself!

🕺Latterly, Coop has taken inspiration from the character Henry Winkleman so effortlessly portrayed in the hit series ‘Happy Days’ to create suboptimalskater - A mixture of The Fonz, Goldie Looking Chain, Austin Powers and a little bit of Coop himself.

🕺So, Sit On It and enjoy the mixtape and have a good month.

🕺DM Coop if you need a hand accessing the tape, which is on @cooperinho1.
