Houston, TX 📍 Have you dined at @credencehtx yet? 👀🍸

Today we’re taking a bite out of Credence on Katy Freeway, and let’s just say… the EMPTY PLATES speak for themselves! 🤌🏽✨

We kicked things off with the Mexican Firing Squad and Palomita cocktails, followed by the Credence Caesar Salad and their tableside parisa. For our entrees, we tried the Wild Gulf Snapper, roasted chicken, butter-whipped potatoes, and cabbage. And because no dinner is complete without a little something extra, we finished with an espresso shot. ☕️

The presentation, the flavors, the entire experience? Definitely one to add to your Houston dining list!

We’re excited to feature Greg Starks from Credence as he prepares to compete in our Iron Sommelier event.

Here’s a little more about Greg and his journey in the world of wine.

Greg Starks is a Houston sommelier whose approach to wine is rooted in genuine, welcoming hospitality. Known for his approachable demeanor and relaxed style, Greg believes that great wine should be accessible to everyone, regardless of their level of knowledge or experience. He now serves as the sommelier of Credence and its sister speakeasy Sidebar, creating pairings that are both delightful and unexpected, and personalizing each guest's experience. Greg is particularly drawn to distinctive, unconventional wines that challenge expectations and offer guests something new to uncover. Balancing a deep appreciation for the craft with his unpretentious and guest-focused philosophy, he strives to make every wine experience both engaging and memorable.

Want to see Greg in action? There’s still time to grab your tickets to Iron Sommelier!

Chefs for Farmers Food and Wine Festival congratulates the Texas culinary greatness recently recognized on the world stage with the Michelin Guide! 🌟🍴

When we started Chefs for Farmers, the mission was simple: celebrate the hardworking farmers who nurture our land and the fearless chefs who turn that harvest into culinary art. Today, we are raising a big glass to our entire festival family celebrated in the 2026 @michelinguide Texas.

Whether you earned a coveted Michelin Star, secured a Bib Gourmand for incredible value and craft, joined the guide as a Recommended selection, or proudly held onto your status, we could not be prouder to share a table with you.

Your dedication, grit, and passion continue to put Texas cuisine on the global map. You do not have to wait to taste this level of artistry either, because you can celebrate and savor right alongside these culinary talents at Chefs for Farmers.

Join us in congratulating all the incredible chefs, kitchens, and teams in the comments because we can’t tag them all! 👇🤠🍷

one thing I’ll give Houston…the food scene is *massively* underrated. 🔥 Honestly think it’s right up there with nyc (as someone who has lived all over the place). You can find food from literally any culture, any country, super beautiful bougie restaurants to incredible hole in the walls.

🍂 SAVE this for a few of my favorite spots I’ve discovered in the first 8 months of living in HTX 🙌🏻

- Rumis kitchen (Persian)
- ChopnBlok (west African)
- Handies douzo (sushi, hand rolls)
- Agas (Indo-Pakistani, get the goat chops 🤤)
- Tacos Frontera (Tijuana style tacos)
- Credence (upscale south Texas style, get the monkey bread & deviled crabs)
- Uchi (sushi, get the wagyu nigiri)
- Cotto e crudo enoteca (Italian casual, good lunch spot)
- Delice de Maurice (good pastries, coffee and grilled sandwiches)
- Truth bbq (need to try more bbq, have tried 4 spots here but this was my fav by far.)
- Two tone (coffee)
- Annkello kahawa (fav matcha)
- The cottage grocer (coffee, lunch, premade food to go)
- Cabo bobs (I had to…their fresh made tortillas…incredible.)
- Milton’s (Italian, great atmosphere. Get the ceasar salad & lamb ragu gnocchi…so bomb).
- Angie’s (new pizza spot in the heights, get the leek tortelloni & piccante pizza)
- Okto: honorable mention because I only reccommend to go for their happy hour & GET THE BREAD. Thank me later. Good vibes too.

Portrait of Greg Starks, Sommelier of Credence Houston.

We’d just had an amazing interview and wrapped shooting for our section on Credence. Rami and I’d tucked our gear by our table and’d just started to tear into cocktails and some of the most insane spread.

Then Greg came by our table. He’d asked about our experience of the place, about our story and offered suggestions for paring our next drinks. We had an instant rapport with Greg, felt like we were connecting with an old friend. The more we chatted with Greg the more his acumen seeped through. Rami and I were blown away, this guy really is a culinary virtuoso. So we had to ask and Greg is actually the Resident Sommelier at Credence.

If you know me at all you know my closest interaction with a Sommelier was probably a Netflix documentary. So to find we’d been chopping it up with a Sommelier for the last ten minutes unaware is insane to me.

Greg’s a down-to-earth, straight shooter who knows the culinary landscape like the back of his hand and I’m willing to bet he’d never let himself believe he’s a cat that’s reached such great heights.

Thanks for taking care of us brother. Your rendering of hospitality is an art.

Everybody at this event needed somebody else in the room.

Chefs were looking for better relationships with farmers and producers.

Farmers and suppliers were looking for more restaurant relationships.

And consumers were actively trying to understand where the food they enjoy actually comes from.

That’s what stood out to us while attending the @chefsforfarmersfoodandwine festival here in Houston.

The food and cocktails create the attraction. But putting all of these different parts of the hospitality ecosystem in the same environment creates opportunities that can continue long after the event is over.

That’s something we’re paying much more attention to as we continue documenting all sides of hospitality through @railzhospitality
