October 7 is Jim Goode Day. And while Jim’s story started with a pit, his legacy stretches all the way to the Gulf.

For 40 years, Goode Co. Seafood has been shaped by the people and relationships behind it. From Jim Goode and the late Jimmy Evans to Jim Gossen, Kurt Evans and Levi Goode, generations of fishermen, suppliers and cooks have carried forward a shared commitment to quality, craftsmanship, and doing things the right way.

What started as partnerships became friendships, and eventually, family. Those relationships can still be found in every oyster shucked, every redfish prepared and every campechana served today.

Here’s to Jim, Jimmy and 40 years on the Gulf.

Last year I was able to get down south to the hallowed dove fields that host @thepalomablanco, John Dunaway's over-the-top Texas dove hunt that has snowballed into something of an institution. The trip did not disappoint.

As we gear up for another dove season, check out my interview with the multi-talented Mr. Dunaway (@abstractconformity). We talk about the hunt's humble beginnings, the key to keeping the magic, and what he sees for its future.

There are some places where everything just comes together: good food, cold drinks, live fire, good music, and the kind of people who know how to appreciate all of it.

Looking back on @LockhartRising, that’s what sticks with me most.

The camaraderie the @mill.scale crew has built is rooted in shared respect for live fire, craftsmanship, and doing things the right way.

Back in May, all of that came together in Lockhart, which serves as a reminder of why this corner of Texas means so much to me.

Houston, we can all use a #feelgoodfriday moment so here you go ⚽️:

As FIFA took center stage in Houston this summer, we saw a special opportunity to celebrate the passion so many of our team members have for the game by giving one hourly employee the chance to experience a match firsthand.

To enter, team members submitted a brief email sharing how soccer or the FIFA World Cup has impacted their lives, whether through a passion for the game, family traditions, team spirit, or the memories they hoped to create by attending. Participants could also include photos to help tell their story, earning bonus points for bringing their experiences to life.

After an anonymous review process and two rounds of voting by multiple reviewers, we were proud to announce Santiago as the winner of our FIFA ticket giveaway!

Santiago has been a valued member of the Goode Company family since 1992. To celebrate his win, members of our Executive Team and Home Office surprised him at work with the tickets. Seeing the excitement on his face as he realized he was headed to the match made it a memorable moment for everyone who was there.

On July 4th, Santiago attended the match and enjoyed an unforgettable experience with his family. Knowing we could play a small part in creating memories they’ll cherish for years to come makes this giveaway even more meaningful.
