The city is different after dark. Parkour De Nuit - night parkour - is a tradition as old as parkour itself. This October, we take to the streets after dark for one of London’s most extraordinary movement experiences. NIGHT MISSION DETAILS DATE: Friday 23rd October DURATION: 9pm-8am STARTS AT: @pkgenlondon In the dead of night, when most are asleep behind closed doors, the city belongs solely to us. Moving through deserted streets, exploring unseen places, overcoming movement challenges and undertaking tough physical tasks — at night all these activities take on new meaning. Your ears pick up the smallest sounds. Your eyes adapt to low light. Your hands feel every surface variation. The experience is enhanced in every way. The Night Mission is an all-night guided training event across London. You and your group will be challenged in ways you cannot predict, brought face to face with mental blocks, barriers and adversity of all kinds. You will work together as a team to find solutions to the tasks our expert Night Mission Guides present. Every Night Mission is themed. Why Did I Not Listen To My Body? 🦵 Yesterday I spent close to 10 hours on my feet at the Parkour Generations event on Hampstead Heath — watching, cheering, doing a little climbing myself. On the flat, my right leg felt fine. Uphill, it told me a different story. One I chose to override. By the time I drove home and got out of the car, I could barely walk. Limping, right back to square one on a leg I’d been working hard to heal. Then, that same night, a separate spasm hit my left thigh so hard I was up screaming in pain from midnight until 2am. If my wife hadn’t been there, I’d have called 999. I ended up sleeping with an ice pack between my legs just to get through it. Two warnings from my body in one day. This morning, the calf pain is still there. I love this world of movement. I love being around people who move beautifully. But loving it isn’t a reason to override what your body is telling you. Lesson relearned: enjoy the movement, but listen to the body doing it. Every single time. #ListenToYourBody | #TreeTopManFit | #MovementRecovery | #ParkourGenerations | #BodyAwareness

With the day coming to a close and energy waning, our valiant attendees gave it one final push in the group challenge to end all group challenges. With the fate of the world resting on their ability to safely transport 22 units of the rare and highly volatile new element ‘Parkourium’ through the trees, passing three checkpoints and safely depositing it at the ex-fil site.
