Recording Academy Members: Final days of voting- For your consideration: the Julia Keefe Indigenous Big Band!

I’ve been so proud to work with @juliakeefeofficial & this AMAZING indigenous music project for the last few years. Producing this album was such a privilege, and this ensemble shows the music world that indigenous musicians have had a significant place in the timeline of American culture; now and forever. The music was developed and workshopped at The Kennedy Center in Washington D.C. in May 2024, the final season before Orange Julius fired everyone in the building who gave space to indigenous art.

If you know anyone with a vote or two left from their allotted 10, PLEASE let them know about this album! Tag ‘em!

Portland photo recap from 10.10.26 at @knownobar
Thank you for helping us finish this last tour of ‘26 right! Big ups to Eric and Orion for breaking wind with us on the horns, the buds in Moonraker really know how to slay and it was so good catching up with them for few shows on this tour! They’re aces! There will be more words about this run but that’s for later. For now, thank you Portland. Oh yeah! Water Ave Coffee downtown has a great Pumpkin Spice Latte if you’re looking for one. Tis the Season.

Orion White and his band, Wen'ipt, opened at The Old Church for Isaiah Collier last night. Orion and his baritone sax have emerged as top young talent on Portland's lively jazz scene. He and his band put on a wonderful show to a packed house earning a raucous standing ovation in appreciation of their performance. Jazz is alive and well in Portland and in good hands with young musicians like Orion. @dat.bari.sax @theoldchurchconcerthall @the_1905 @kmhd_jazz_radio
