An address had been reached. The place had not

I went to Via Prenestina 913 for KLANG: NEST and left carrying a different question: what can art protect when it shares walls with a home?

At Metropoliz, art does not sit apart from life. It lives beside plants, dogs, repairs, private rooms, conversations and the morning after the visitors have gone. In the Cortile della Luna, the music of Ziúr, Cosimo Damiano and DIACRONIE Ensemble moved around us, making a temporary interior from sound.

It did not define home. It put the question inside the body

My first thanks are to the people who live at Metropoliz, whose home also held the evening. Thank you to @maam_museoabitato and to everyone who has cared for the place; to @thisis.klang , @iper_festivaldelleperiferie and @museodelleperiferie for bringing the programme there; and to @ziurinhell , @cosimo_damiano_ and @diacronie_ for the concentration, intelligence and generosity of the music.

I tried to write about the experience without turning another person’s home into scenery, and without mistaking attention for enough. The essay is my attempt to see without claiming, and how beauty might increase responsibility rather than replace it.

For anyone who would like to stay with the place and its questions a little longer, the full essay is available through the link in my bio on Arké Imago

With gratitude to everyone who made the evening possible and especially to those whose ordinary life continued after the sound ended

Friday, 29/05 ― KLANG x IPER Festival 2026 “SUPER LIEUX” pres.

𝐊𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐆: 𝑵𝑬𝑺𝑻
Sonificazioni dell’abitare

Inside the unique and astounding context of MAAM (@maam_museoabitato), as part of the “SUPER LIEUX” edition of IPER Festival (@iper_festivaldelleperiferie), we are shaping a fictional and speculative non-place as a sonic reflection around the theme of “dwelling”. Together with the priceless partnership of Diacronie (@diacronie_), Cortile della Luna will be temporarily transmuted into a quadraphonic and immersive architecture, where sound is the pivotal element to inhabit and feel.

Within this ephemeral sound building, in the role of both designers and dwellers, Ziúr (@ziurinhell), Cosimo Damiano (@cosimo_damiano_), and DIACRONIE Ensemble (@diacronie_, @ruggerofornari, @edd_blc, @giangly_0, @zadra_luca) will present site-specific quadraphonic performances, reflecting through the sound medium on the relationship between space and presence, between places and meanings, between people and lieus.

𝐅𝐑𝐄𝐄 𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐑𝐘
🗓️ Friday 29/05
🕖 h. 19:00 ― 21:00 (𝒓𝒆𝒂𝒍 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆𝒔!)
📍MAAM - Museo dell’Altro e dell’Altrove di Metropoliz
(Via Prenestina, 913 - RM)

The playful and creative approach to musical instruments, beyond any written rule or canonic practice, has always been one of our top inspirations.
It’s around this very concept that, together with Diacronie, our 𝐊𝐋𝐀𝐍𝐆: 𝑻𝑶𝒀𝑺 series was born ― chasing the crispiest attitudes and the sharpest ideas around what a sound instrument could possibly be.

From the voice of @elvinbrandhi and @giangly_0 to the percussions of @sebastienforrester and @edd_blc, from the winds of @timotheequost and @federicodangelo__ to the piano of @mayadhondtdtdt and @ruggerofornari & @cavallarohector, we had the chance to push the envelope of these “sound toys”, in service of fresher and wider visions.

No setting would have suited better than the dreamlike halls of Teatro di Documenti (@teatro.di.documenti), whose spellbinding aura made every frequency resonate like an enchantment.

THANK YOU ALL for being part of our sonic journeys!
See you very very soon with the last few goodies of the season 🩶
