🇵🇭 Filipino American History Month 🇵🇭

I hosted my last @lululemon Stanford run of 2026 and what better way to go out than by celebrating my culture.

Thank you to @dr.joeysalgado and @dr.joshuaflores from @progressivemotionpt for highlighting your facility and showing attendees what you can offer to them. It’s so important to recognize Filipino-owned businesses in wellness and I owe these folks for helping me meet my goals.

And one big shoutout to the Stanford team @poonamanam @sierrarafto @curtisjtyler for letting me build a community here over the past few months. You all are so supportive and a great group of folks to work with. Can’t wait to build more with yall in 2027 🫶🏽

Find a community who lifts you up, that’s the best therapy.
The runs are secondary, the people come first.

This @progressivemotionpt run event with lululemon was special, connecting people through mindful movement & positivity.

Stiff Mid or Lower Back? You probably are hitting some good drills, but maybe missing some of the nuances.

This is a contralateral crawl. The opposite arm and leg work together, which is the same pattern your body uses every time you walk or run.

Most mid-back mobility drills focus only on twisting. What gets missed is keeping the spine long while you rotate.

When your spine stays tall and supported, you get:

✅ More freedom for each segment of your spine to move
✅ Less pressure and pinching through your back
✅ Your spine’s natural curves protected
✅ Less tension in the surrounding muscles
✅ Better body awareness and control

The bottom line: less strain, mitigate risk of injury bc quality of motion is preserved, and movement that feels easier.

This drill trains mid-back rotation, core control, and shoulder blade stability all at once. That’s why it’s one of our favorites for anyone dealing with a stiff mid back or lower back.

Finally got around to sharing this amazing run + coffee hangout with the @progressivemotionpt team at our favorite local spot in Redwood City @theyardrwc.

Thankful for these spaces for hosting run clubs & promoting wellness. Even more grateful for those who show up.

We had a great group with people who’ve never ran before, restarting their fitness journey, or even recovering from injuries. It’s all about trying something new, seeking out community, and being the best versions of ourselves.

Where should we run next!?

A big part of this camp has been the work I’ve been doing at @progressivemotionpt.

@dr.joeysalgado has been getting me right. He has a great team and a super clean facility that covers all my needs.

They’ve got me on their REP system — Reset, Evolve, Perform — and it’s changed how I train. One of the biggest things I’ve added to my bag through it is breath work. Deep, controlled breathing paired with my mobility and performance exercises has helped open up my body, allowing me to get deeper into athletic positions in a more efficient and powerful manner.

The details matter❗️ Not leaving any stone unturned!

In your 40s, fitness isn’t just about lifting heavier. It’s about moving better.

Strength training matters but so does walking, stretching, getting down to the floor, carrying things, rotating, balancing, and simply staying active throughout the day…paired with nutrition that is skipped like hella.

You don’t need to crush a hard workout every day. You need to keep your body moving.

Because the goal isn’t just to look fit at 40+ (although it’s nice to still stunt at that beach and pool😎)

It’s to stay capable, mobile, strong, and independent for the decades ahead.

That’s longevity. 👊
