Apparently I forgot how to post anything other than beginning and end of school photos. We had an amazing summer (more on that soon), but Oliver is STOKED to be back at school! 🍎🦆📚

And just like that, Oliver has finished kindergarten! This kid is kind, creative, silly, energetic, smart as they come, and definitely going to go far in life! 🎈

Just some more snaps of us at a lighthouse on the coast from last autumn. The amount of times I’ve contemplated being landlocked is laughable every time I see photos like these 🦦🫍🦅

Been thinking about @chainreactionca closing down last year and I still hate it. Wrote about it, and asked some friends to think back on their experiences with local venues. Take a peek at racketmag.com.

I’ve been a bit mia lately, so here are some snaps from last year:
1. Columbia River Maritime Museum (we spent 3 hours here as Oliver went deep into every exhibit).
2, 3, 4. The boardwalk and dock fowling in Olympia on two separate occasions. I always have to stop and say hi to the creatures on the posts below.
5. Hot summer days swimming and paddle boarding in Dorena Lake.
6. A little summer hike at Silver Falls State Park.
7. A break outside of Monterey Bay Aquarium.
8. Heading to Canadian waters while searching for Orcas in the Salish Sea.

Earlier this week we said goodbye to Turbo. For the past 15 years he’s been our constant companion as we roadtripped to campsites and beaches all over the west coast. He outlasted his three four-legged siblings to be the last pet standing, sucking up all the scritches from a family that loved him. He slept, he snorted, he borked, and he cuddled until he just couldn’t anymore. Goodbye, Turbo.

Oliver and I will forever come alive near the sea. Jonathan will always lurke with his camera in hand and capture this feeling ♥️

We had the best day whale watching from Orcas Island into Canadian waters last month with @outerislandx and were blessed by a sighting of Chainsaw, a beloved male transient orca!

A ferry trip to Orcas Island with a peak of orcas spouting in the distance was a perfect way to celebrate my birthday last month.
