I've been really struggling to TRULY find the words to capture how BEAUTIFUL this Saturday's Black Girl Book Fair was... but I will try!

There were THOUSANDS of people who came through with the main purpose of supporting amazing bookstores, vendors and authors! There was so much JOY and LOVE at every turn.

My deepest thanks to @braveandkindbooks,
@shopthebookworm, @44thand3rdbookseller, @thebookcellaratl, @asmallplacebookshop and @allthingsinspirationgift for curating the most phenomenal event and including over 20 vendors from the community! You all were organized, helpful and were so happy for us and our crowded booths and sold out products!

I have so much gratitude for the HUNDREDS of beautiful people who came through my booth! You all were so kind... so patient... so FLY! Thank you for the stories you shared of meeting other June Dragonfly customers out in the wild or sharing that you came by because of a video you saw on social. You all lifted me up and affirmed why I started June Dragonfly... to share the unique and beautiful products from amazing women-owned brands from across the country!

Special thanks to my bestie @tonieellis who flew into town to help me. In addition to literally standing by my side all day, she helped with set up, tear down and helped me pack up the warehouse. Thank you and love you friend!!

Big thanks to my husband Trey and my children for coming through to bring me treats I didn't have time to eat, taking some pics and helping me pack up before the downpour! Love you all!

And lots of love and thanks to all my friends who stopped by to give me a hug... to bring their friends... to take pics and vids (because I barely took ANY) and who made a purchase.

Recently restocked some new items from phenomenal women-owned brands at The June Dragonfly Shop at @thelola_women, an amazing women's co-working space and community close to Ponce City Market.

If you're a member, you can shop any time the club is open.

If you're not a member (yet!), you can come by Mon-Fri between 9a-5p. Just ring the bell and a community manager will let you in.

I was born in Montréal... then moved to Toronto as a toddler and then spent my formative years living in a suburb called Mississauga until I moved to Atlanta just after my 24th birthday.

Even though I've now lived in the U.S. longer than I lived in Canada... it will always be H🍁ME!

I keep saying I want to do a Gratitude Sunday so this is the perfect time… I haven’t really known how to put this day into words.

It’s been one year since I was asked to lead @thelola_women

We were in one of the hardest seasons in our history. We had been given until the end of the month to come up with over $100,000 in rental debt.

The beginning was hard… I told myself when I finally talked about it I would not sugar coat it as sometimes I do… but people were dropping like flies y’all. At manyyyy points I wanted to say… ya know never mind.

But then I would look up and see how important this was for women in business that knew the value of proximity, AND real community.. so I’d keep pushing.

So when one by one, women stood up a couple weeks ago and shared stories. They talked about moments I had completely forgotten. Conversations after events. Random check-ins. Times I encouraged them to keep going when business wasn’t working or life was just… heavy.

I honestly thought my job this past year was to help save The Lola.

What I didn’t realize was that, somewhere along the way, The Lola was helping save pieces of people too.

And I freakin cried!

I cried because (well one im a cancer 😆) but I realized leadership is funny in a way. You don’t always get to see what your presence means to someone else. But also how as Carline from @networkitcoach said it’s contagious and how our presence together helps us all.

Well thanks to @_quoyah & @camilletelicia putting this together, I got to see it. CLEARLY.

To every woman who has trusted me, challenged me, encouraged me, and allowed me to walk alongside her this past year, thank you.

To the words spoken… and the love given from you all…

I will never forget this day.

And I’ll never stop believing that community can change the trajectory of someone’s life!

I still do not know exactly how our paths collided, but I am so grateful they did. More than ten years later, I can say without question that your friendship has been life changing.

You are a beautiful example of what it means to show up fully in every role you hold. A devoted wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, businesswoman, and a true model of human kindness and decency.

I am so proud of the woman you are, so honored to call you my friend, and so excited for everything this next chapter holds. Fifty looks beautiful on you. The best is not behind you. It is just getting started.

One of my absolute favorite parts of building June Dragonfly is creating gift experiences that tell a deeper story.

And in April, I had a chance to do that for the Mission Investors Exchange 20th Anniversary Conference.

I curated and fulfilled over 600 welcome gifts for their attendees that were designed to align with the organization's values around sustainability, community and their support of small businesses.

Each custom branded sustainable pouch included products from incredible Atlanta-based women-owned brands including @justaddhoney, @kindredpapr and @scrubandbutter, along with a custom insert and private digital gift guide on my site that allowed attendees to learn more about the brands and the founders behind them.

This was one of our largest projects to date and involved weeks of sourcing, production coordination, fulfillment logistics and a whole lot of problem solving behind the scenes, but it was all absolutely worth it!

Beyond grateful to @missioninvestors for trusting June Dragonfly with such a meaningful part of their conference experience and grateful to the small businesses who partnered with me to help bring it to life! 💜
