It takes a whole team to bring a wooden boy to life. 🎭✨ Behind every character, puppet, costume, and lighting cue are people creating something together. Today, we’re celebrating the cast and creative team of ¡VIVA PINOCHO!—the artists whose talent, dedication, and collaboration bring this adventure to the stage. ❤️ Written and directed by Manuel Antonio Morán, this reimagining of Pinocchio follows a young Mexican immigrant finding his place in a new country while staying connected to his roots. Through puppetry and Mexican rhythms, his journey becomes a story of family, identity, and dreams that reach beyond borders. 🌎🎶 Swipe to meet the people making it all happen, and give this team a round of applause in the comments! 👏 🎉 Opening October 31! 📅 Saturdays, October 31–December 5 🕒 3 PM 📍 Teatro SEA | 107 Suffolk Street, NYC Bring your family and experience what we’ve created together. 🎟️ Get your tickets at teatrosea.org. #VivaPinocho #TeatroSEA #MeetTheCast #BehindTheScenes #NYCTheatre

Pinch me, Penny 🥹 I can’t begin to describe the full circle moments that being welcomed into Dr. Morán’s community have brought!! My musical, Wait for Her, is one of 4 grant winners in his new program @elmusicalnyc . Being part of a Puerto Rican led theater community is something that I’m not sure my abuela imagined for her grandkids when she was fighting for her kids and her life back in the 50s. 70 years later, here we are 😭🇵🇷 Feeling overjoyed to develop my show with this support! Pictured above: Meeting and celebrating @lin_manuel and his amazing family at Teatro SEA’s 40 year anniversary Gala, the beyond talented children’s choir from Washington Heights, and the other grant winners who are already fast friends. We out here!!!!

On October 8, Teatro SEA celebrated its 40th Anniversary with an unforgettable gala honoring the Miranda Family at Trinity Commons, Trinity Church Wall Street. It was a special evening for El Musical, as Advisory Board members @vegalteno, @lin_manuel and @drmanuelmoran welcomed and celebrated the winners of our 2026 Call for New Musicals! As we celebrated @teatrosea four decades of storytelling and theatre, we at El Musical are equally excited about nurturing the next generation of Latino musical theater creators and bringing new stories to the stage. Congratulations once again to our talented winners! We can’t wait to see what comes next!

Inhabiting the Landscape: Collective Garments for a Living Ecology Fashion Show & Public Conversation Saturday, October 24, 2026 | 3–4:30 PM @PS122 Gallery, 150 First Ave, NYC Yohanna Roa & Felicia Young present nine wearable artworks developed over the past four years through the Costume/Bio-Arts workshops Yohanna Roa led as Costume/Textile Artist-in-Residence and Workshop Instructor with Earth Celebrations. Created collectively with community participants for Ecological City: Procession for Climate Solutions directed by Felicia Young, these garments explore urban ecology, environmental awareness, and the relationships between artistic production, ecological knowledge, and community participation. The fashion show will be followed by a public conversation with Felicia Young, Founder and Executive Director of Earth Celebrations, and Yohanna M. Roa, examining how collaborative artistic practices can generate environmental awareness, shared knowledge, and forms of collective action. About the speakers Yohanna M. Roa is a New York-based transcultural feminist visual artist working across performance, textiles, garment-making, and critical archival intervention. Her practice examines how history, knowledge, and memory are materially produced and embodied. Through wearable works and participatory textile processes, she approaches the body as a site of knowledge and artistic production as a method of research, collaboration, and public engagement. Felicia Young is a social-action artist and Founder and Executive Director of Earth Celebrations, a nonprofit organization based on New York’s Lower East Side. Since 1991, she has developed interdisciplinary art projects integrating visual art, performance, public processions, education, and civic participation to address environmental and social issues, including community-garden preservation, watershed restoration, coastal resilience, and climate action. ❤️ THANK YOU! ¡GRACIAS DE TODO CORAZÓN! ❤️ What an unforgettable evening! Our sold-out Teatro SEA (@teatrosea) 40th Anniversary Gala, our first ever, was filled with love, joy, and gratitude. Here are some photos from a night I will treasure forever! Forty years of dreams, stories, and commitment to our children, artists, and communities. What began in Puerto Rico has become an extraordinary journey! My deepest gratitude to the Miranda Family, especially Luis Miranda Jr. (@vegalteno), Dr. Luz Towns-Miranda, Lin-Manuel Miranda (@lin_manuel), and the entire family, for allowing us to honor them. It was also moving to recognize Ana Campos Stephens (@anajerry1523) and Richard P. Marino for their dedication to SEA. Our wonderful young MCs—Manuel Gabriel, Hikari (angelhikari.s.a), Logan (@loganjalarcon_poucel), Mia, and little Lucas—stole everyone’s hearts! The Washington Heights Choir School (@washingtonheightschoir), Manteca Blue (@mantecablue), and The Latin Corner were magnificent! Heartfelt thanks to our Presenting Sponsor, Garcia Hamilton & Associates, and Gilbert Garcia (@gilbertandrewgarcia); Platinum Sponsor, Hispanic Federation (@hispanicfederation); Venue Partner, Trinity Church Wall Street (@trinitychurchnyc); and all our supporters! Thanks to Council Member Christopher Marte (@chrismartenyc), Mayor Zohran Mamdani (@nycmayor), and Commissioner Rafael Espinal (@nycmomecommish, @madein_ny) for recognizing October 8 as Teatro SEA Day! We launched our anniversary book, Teatro SEA: Forty Years of Dreams and Stories, and raised over $50,000 for Little SEA / El Pequeño SEA, our bilingual theater summer camp! To our Board, Chair Isabel De Jesús, Junior Board, Gala Committee, staff, artists, volunteers, and everyone who made this possible—thank you! ❤️ Next stop: Vega Baja, Puerto Rico, where it all began! Our December 19 gala will continue this celebration throughout our 40th anniversary season! Our dreams continue. The best is yet to come! ¡Felices 40 años, Teatro SEA! 🎭❤️ Con todo mi corazón, Manuel #TeatroSEA40 #TeatroSEA #MirandaFamily #LittleSEA 📸 @antinoo @krystalconye
